Coach doesn’t want to encourage your business

People still share PCEs and are able to use them so I don't know why some have the idea that they can't. I have used a couple recently myself since I just stopped getting them recently.

I was not able to use a pce a friend gave me. They looked it up and said this wasn't issued to you, you cannot use it. Like everything else, I'm sure it depends on who you get, but it has happened to me and someone else I know.

Based on the anecdotal evidence just on this thread, it's clear that receiving PCEs is not based solely on your buying history at FP stores. It is also based on other info metrics based on other purchase patterns outside Coach that Coach buys from other websites/data mining companies. I would say yes, Coach absolutely (thinks they) knows your age, the websites/companies you buy from, and maybe even your google searches from the past few years. All of that information is out there. Do not underestimate the amount of information we as consumers leave for Google, Amazon, Coach, Nordstrom, etc. to sell to outside companies.

That said, I am a huge online shopper and frequent FP shopper. I have received every single PCE in the past 4 years. And I am definitely not in my 20s.
that's what i keep saying: i get every single PCE, and am not fashion forward 48-year-old. i had this conversation with SA the other day, i was joking how i show up every time i get PCE, she said when you shop with PCE Coach sees it and sends you another PCE because you use them, so you always come back. i never even buy FP bags ever, it is always small items only. i do not understand why i get them and OP doesn't.

PCE's are so inconsistent, I was getting them more frequently!! Coach had my info, then all of a sudden it got lost, email, name etc. So I called last week and the manager said she would honor the PCE for me (she did), because they don't know how the info gets "lost"!?!?
If I hadn't wanted something, I wouldn't have bothered.

Oh yes. With today's technology they know stuff about me that I don't even know! Seriously though, I work in IT and it's very scary but these companies make big bucks doing this. Age is probably one of the easiest pieces of data for companies to purchase.

Indeed, everything from the brand of bread you prefer to your medications are recorded somewhere. All they do is compile the info in one place and then sell it.

For sure, that's why I keep a very low internet profile and NEVER use Facebook. They have to be one of the biggest data sellers on the planet.

FB is quite something, isn't it? I still have my account but I removed the very small amount of personal info that I had stored, and I use it sparingly. It has it's uses, I've got companies to respond to problems that I have not been successful in resolving by phone.

wow, so sorry to hear that.. i used to work for coach and never heard any of the SAs make that kind of comment to a customer!! I don't know how they decide who gets the PCE, but the ones I do see, are from all ages and didn't matter if they bought one small item 4 months ago, or $2000 worth last month. Maybe I wasn't there long enough to find the connection :)

If I were you, I would send a complaint to them. I'm sure they won't agree with how their staff treats any customers!

Besides, the 20 something Prada guppies would buy LV, not Coach! heehee

I bet that even if you couldn't use the borrowed PCE in the store you could still use it online or by calling JAX. I bet the computer doesn't know if it was assigned to you or not and it doesn't seem like JAX cares one way other. I agree that PCE' s should just be extended to everyone. It would seem to me that in a time when you are having financial problems pissing off your loyal customers would not be the best thing for your bottom line.

I called jax to use my pce given to me by someone else. They typed in my order, and at the end when I gave them they pce code they read me back the name of my friend who gave it to me and said I could not use it. That it was non transferable.

Yes, this happened to me also. The code identifies who was sent the pce.
