weird adhesive inside of the handles. Is it normal? Since I'm not the first own
It appears that the glue between the two panels forming the handles has oxidized and is somehow showing dramatically (not sure how the previous owner used the bag).

You can bring it to Dior to see if they can replace the handles, but for a fee.

thank you for your reply :amuse:

I will try my chance in the store to see if they can replace it. As I mentioned I don't have the invoice or the previous owner's name for them to check in the system :(

I will update here, so in the future if someone faces the same problem we can have a reference

Does anyone have any tips on how to care for cracked handles and prevent further damage? Would leather conditioner help?

See attached for the cracking on the handles of my coated canvas Panarea tote. I think the cracking is mainly from carrying a heavy laptop in it.

Also included a bonus photo of the bag itself in all her glory, she doesn't see much use lately since I started working from home but I still think she's the perfect tote

The cracking cannot be removed with leather conditioner. If you take it to a good cobbler/leather repair specialist, then they can sand down the edge and reapply it so it looks new again.

It is a gorgeous bag. Definitely one of the best tote bags ever made!

I use the color repairing creme - it helps to lower visibility of crackers. It in enough for normal use, but in the future I will bring the bag to professional repair shop. They now made tne new glasure.
But I have other problem - in curved places - under the straps at the top, at the side seam at the bottom - the surface begins to peel. I have a Confetti model, so the print disappears. :(

Hopefully averagejoe's suggestion of taking it to a cobbler/leather repair specialist helps. Your Panarea is a beautiful example of the classic black colour! Reminds me that I need to take my small silver one out soon so it gets some sun too!

Hello everyone

I wanted to update my post:

I went to the Dior store and showed my bag. The SA checked the handles and explained what we can do about it.

Normally after checking the invoice info, they are taking photos and sending them to France HQ to decide if it is caused by the customer or it is some kind of manufacturing defect.
If it is the customer's fault they are offering to fix it with their cobbler with or without a fee (depending on the fixing issue)
If it is a manufacturing defect they are sending the old bag to France HQ and giving you a brand new one!

SA thinks my problem might be caused by hand sanitizer (maybe the previous owner of the bag held the handles after using hand sanitizer, but I didn't) and even though I don't have an invoice or the previous owner's name she still offered to fix it with their cobbler. Dior's customer service is the best I must say  Now I'm waiting my bag to be fixed

How do you all store your saddle bags? Mine is currently in its dust bag when not in use, laid flat on its side since it can't stand up on its own due to the shape. However, I'm wondering if it would be better to keep it hung from a hanger (like this one) in my closet instead?

I recently got a lady dior. It’s brand new but I’ve already scratched the top flap a few times
How do you guys recommend keeping the bag is good condition? Can I use Apple leather conditioner? Should I use waterproofing spray?
Any advice is appreciated!

You can try a conditioner to lighten the scratches, although you should test it on a small spot underneath the flap to see if it will change the colour of the leather (some conditioners can darken the colour of the leather). A waterproofing spray may make it more slippery (not sure if that helps avoid scratches) but you may have to clean the hardware with a microfiber cloth afterwards because the spray leaves residue on hardware.

Hey ladies! I’m seriously considering purchasing a Dior book tote at a good price from a reseller, but the catch is that there’s a VISIBLE stain on the front of the bag. I’ve attached pictures and am trying to see if it’s fixable or if I should hold out until another one of these pops up without a stain. I’ve read that canvas is notoriously hard to maintain, so I’m not sure what can be done about a stain this pronounced. I’m not sure what stained it, it looks like food/drink (coffee?). Do you think it can be fixed?

Didn't see this message till now. Did you end up getting the bag? Not sure if this can be cleaned, but the stains don't look terrible and if the price is very good, then it may be worth getting.

Hi has anyone experienced the embroidery/thread color change with their oblique jacquard? Some parts near the top has turned a strange shade of pink … I’ve stored it in a dry place and kept it away from sun, heat, rain and anything damaging. Anyone has any clue if this can be fixed? I’m heartbroken

That is heartbreaking...I've seen some others mention how this happened to them and they took it back to the boutique and were told it was defective. I would suggest taking it back to the boutique and have it checked out. Hopefully they can help
