These are hard to clean because they are on canvas, which can absorb whatever solvent you apply and spread the stain.

These actually look like oxidized glue stains. I would bring this back to Dior first to see what they can do.

If they cannot replace the bag or clean it, then the trick is to use a Q-tip with a tiny bit of lighter fluid applied to it. Not enough to soak the tip, but to moisten it so that it can be used to gently rub the stains without allowing the fluid to absorb. Lighter fluid (butane) vaporizes quickly so as long as you don't soak the Q-tip with it, then it can potentially take off the stain instead of spreading it while soaking into the canvas.
Hi @averagejoe, many thanks for your quick reply!

I think it’s oxidised glue stain too. In fact, I also saw these stains on someone’s book tote recently. Not sure how these stains appear. I have checked with bag spa and unfortunately, they mentioned that they are unable to remove the stain and at best, lighten it only. Thanks for your tips and I will try it to see if it works! :)

The charms will get scratched over time, and Dior can replace them for you (for a fee if it is due to wear and tear). Brand new bags should not have scratches to this extent on the hardware since they come to the boutique with plastic film on the charms (the little dustbag that the charms come with do little to prevent them from scratching, but the plastic film protects the charms). The plastic film is removed from the charms when the bag is sold or put on display. This means that if the bag was tried on in the store, or the charms moved around in the box after it was sold to you, then they could scratch, especially if the box was shaken a bit in transit from the boutique to your home.

You should contact the SA and exchange the bag instead, since it usually takes customer service a bit longer to reply to emails than a direct message to the SA.

Ok, thanks for the reply. It is a seasonal colour, it was on display and the only one in the Netherlands where I'm coming from. In the box I didn't get a dustbag for the charms en there wasn't any plastic on the charms. I'm very upset about it. I hope they can replace the charms. :frown: I didn't get a contact card from the SA, she is supposed to send an email later this week.

I suggest calling the store to ask for the manager. The manager can assist you. The SA's name is on your receipt, if you want to reach out to her when you call the store.

Hi all, I just bought my first Dior: a preloved 2016 iridescent blue Miss Dior Promenade pouch. It is in excellent condition with a few marks.
I have searched this forum but can’t find info regarding the cleaning and care of iridescent calfskin. Could anyone give me tips or links? Thanks in advance.

Can you please post pictures of those marks? Iridescent leather is hard to clean because some solvents and even rubbing can take off the iridescent finish, so it's nice to see what the marks look like to see if anything can be done with them.

Sure. I tried to photograph them as best I could but the iridescent quality of the leather made it challenging. There is a light spot on the front and a dark spot on the back. They aren’t that noticeable but I would like to see if they come off if cleaned. What do you think?

the leather shows up as two different colors but that is just an issue with lighting, not the bag.

This looks like metallic sueded leather. I wouldn't try to clean these with anything because the iridescent finish can mask these imperfections a bit due to all the sheen. Definitely do not use any cleaning creams on this bag.

Thanks. Do you think it is ok to spray it with something like Scotchguard to protect against further staining? Has anyone tried that on this type of leather ?

I just bought a pre-loved dark blue Dior cannage wallet on The Real Real. Not only is there some wear and fading on the outside of the wallet, but there's a lot of discoloration on the lighter blue interior. I'm willing to put in some effort and/or money into fixing it up, especially since I got a great deal on it and could never afford it otherwise.

Ideally I'd love to keep it the same coloration, but I'm open to redying, particularly the lighter blue part on the inside.

Any advice on how to get this wallet into good shape? I'm debating keeping it for myself or giving it to my mother as a super deluxe Christmas present.

(Pictures are from the Real Real listing I bought it from)

Here are my pictures of it on imgur.

I do not recommend that. The most I would suggest is a waterproofing spray, but even that can darken the leather so try it somewhere that isn't as visible (i.e. the base of the bag) first before spraying it all over the bag. Personally I wouldn't even do that since the leather itself is already treated, and any solvent added to it can ruin the finish.

Leather that is this light is hard to clean, since the marks can come from dirt and scratches together, and scratches don't clean off.

If you really want to try cleaning it, I wouldn't use anything other than lighter fluid (butane) applied to the end of a Q-tip to work at the stains to see if they come off. If they don't, then it means that the stains cannot be cleaned. Do not apply a cleaning cream since that can darken the stains if they involve scratches.

I do not suggest re-dying. The shade of blue is hard to match and redying can risk the spray dye being applied to the darker leather parts. In addition, re-dying can stiffen the leather as it refinishes it with a new finish similar to painting the leather.

Hello everyone, newbie here :)

I bought this pre-loved Lady D-lite in Gray Cannage Embroidery. It was in great condition but unfortunately I couldn't use it at all almost a year, as I was abroad and I kept it in its dustbag all the time. Last week when I finally wanted to use it I realized this weird adhesive inside of the handles. Is it normal? Since I'm not the first owner of the bag, I dont know if I take it to the store they can help me - I dont have the invoice :(
Anyone had the same problem before? What was the solution Dior offered or anything I can do to fix it by myself? TIA!!
