Hi @averagejoe, many thanks for your quick reply!These are hard to clean because they are on canvas, which can absorb whatever solvent you apply and spread the stain.
These actually look like oxidized glue stains. I would bring this back to Dior first to see what they can do.
If they cannot replace the bag or clean it, then the trick is to use a Q-tip with a tiny bit of lighter fluid applied to it. Not enough to soak the tip, but to moisten it so that it can be used to gently rub the stains without allowing the fluid to absorb. Lighter fluid (butane) vaporizes quickly so as long as you don't soak the Q-tip with it, then it can potentially take off the stain instead of spreading it while soaking into the canvas.
I think it’s oxidised glue stain too. In fact, I also saw these stains on someone’s book tote recently. Not sure how these stains appear. I have checked with bag spa and unfortunately, they mentioned that they are unable to remove the stain and at best, lighten it only. Thanks for your tips and I will try it to see if it works!
