@NG99, have your buffed it thouroughly? In your place I would sacrifice an old t-shirt and work with buffing it. I have had the same experience where there was a bit too much product. I even once used a hair dryer to heat ( carefully) the wax before buffing.
Thank you, Amandines! I did just that and it helped. Have to be a little more careful with Collonil next time!

Question for the old pros from a relative newbie to Mulberry.
Got a Bayswater today and am thinking of dunking as the flap is dirty and a bit distorted. (Im a Coach rehabber so all good there)
Should I polish up the hardware or leave as is?...not concerned about the inside buckles...just the turnlock.

Got a very much pre-loved Bayswater from a New Zealand selling site.
Authenticated here by our wonderful Authenticators.

She was in relatively good condition for a bag that had been well used for years and in storage for more.

So decided to do a dunk and give her a gpod clean.

I know we have a cleaning thread for Mulberry but wanted to she how easy it was to do and how well it came out.

First off the befores showing all her faults. I do need to repair her handle but thats an easy fix.

Giving her a dunk was the scariest thing.....wasnt sure how well I would do. I have dunked vintage Coach, DKNY and a lambskin bag with no ill affects.

So bath water really , towels to the side.....and in she went.
The colour of the water was very strange...wine coloured water for black bag.
Washed twice and rinsed several times to get the water as clear as possible.
