Does anyone have a good suggestion on how to make these marks on the front of a Alexa less evident? This is my first mulberry and with my other bags I have had success conditioning the leather but am not sure what will work for this type of leather. I would prefer to stay away from any dye/anything colored because I know it can be hard to match the color.
I know you said no colour buuut... I've fixed severe issues with coloured shoe polish:angel: Matching the colour is tricky (or impossible sometimes) so you need to decide whether to leave it or fix it with a slightly different brown. It looks a bit like the surface of the leather has worn off from the lighter patch? If that's the case, I definitely recommed "coating" it with something. Either just a clear care product or then when you're fixing it with coloured polish. The way I did it was to use qtips or even a tootchpick for the tiniest work, a make-up sponge and a soft fabric cloth.Apply a teensy tiny amount of the coloured polish with a qtip, or toothpick if the qtip end is too big (make sure the polish is really meant for covering marks) and then dab it with the sponge. A make-up sponge has a good surface for even results. And then polish. The thing here is to apply as little as you possibly can at every step so you don't end up going over the edges of the patch and creating a bigger, uglier stain.... artistic blending skills being the key words here :p Or you could always send it to a specialist somewhere!

I might try some color. Is there any one brand you would recommend? specifically anyone for the Buffalo color?

Hi everyone.

A small bayswater satchel in oak is on my wishlist but I live in a country where it rains and snows half of the year, how does the oak hold up in rain? Will there be watermarks? Anything you can do to prevent that or do you just leave it at home for the rainy days?

TIA

Spray with carbon pro regularly and you won't need to worry

Jumping into Mulberry with both feet, I'm expecting 2 classic grain bags shortly - black and dune. After reading much of the info here, I'm still wondering which product is best for protection against water as well as color transfer: Waterstop, Carbon Pro, or Nano? Thanks for any opinions on this!

Hello,

I love my new Mulberry Lily.
Please give me some advices for the protection...
On the Mulberry hompage they suggest the Collonil - Gel.
Maybe some of you have the Lily... do you use this gel?

Thank you very much,
Angela.

Hi Angela & congratulations on your new bag!
I currently own 8 Mulberry bags (3 Lilys) and I use Collonil gel + spray(!) on them.
The spray is extra important if your bag is a bright color, I would say, as it will help protect it from sun bleach/discoloration.
I learned this the hard way with a Tod's bag

Good luck & enjoy your Lily!

Thank you very much, dear TammyPrincess77
My Lily is red an I love the colour so much.
I wear a lot of black an the red is perfect with black.
I'll order the Collonil gel and the spray (is it the Collonil Waterstop Spray?)
First I'll use the gel... wait a little bit... and then the spray, right?
You're so lucky to have 8 Mulberry bags

I send you a lot of christmas greetings from Germany

Exactly - the waterstop spray.
Once you've fallen for Mulberry it'll be hard to resist buying more...Especially since they tend to have pretty good sales twice/year :graucho:

Happy Christmas to you too!

Hello,

I have just purchased a Bayswater heritage in oxblood and a quilted purse zip over in oxblood. I was wondering if using the Collonil Waterstop Spray classic is fine to use on both of them and how it’s recommended? Light sprays then wipe with a soft cloth on both and repeat? Also do I need to purchase the gel and use that first? Does anyone have any advice for the oxblood ?

Thank you :))

On the Mulberry website, it recommends the Collinol leather cream to protect the handbags, but many other people recommend the spray. Is the cream enough on its own, or should I get the spray too? What is the different between the two?

I sprayed Collonil Carbon Pro on my light beige small Bayswater, and it seems fine. No change to the feel of the leather, and I hope to have more protection from color transfer.

I received this from mulberry

“Mulberry leathers are preserved using the most natural methods so the surface is not heavily coated.

The Collonil Waterstop spray is useful in protecting leather products against dirt and moisture, and may give some protection from external elements, although it will not make the leather fully waterproof. We would advise you applying this prior to use and keep topping it up on a regular basis.

After the Bag/purse have been used for a while we would recommended applying Collonil Leather gel. This is the best way to help protect our leather from the effects of weathering and UV damage, as well as moisturising the leather. Scratches and scuffs mark the leather easier when the hide is dry.

Natural leather does change in appearance over time and with use and you may find that the whole item will soften in colour as it gets older.”
