I received this from mulberry

“Mulberry leathers are preserved using the most natural methods so the surface is not heavily coated.

The Collonil Waterstop spray is useful in protecting leather products against dirt and moisture, and may give some protection from external elements, although it will not make the leather fully waterproof. We would advise you applying this prior to use and keep topping it up on a regular basis.

After the Bag/purse have been used for a while we would recommended applying Collonil Leather gel. This is the best way to help protect our leather from the effects of weathering and UV damage, as well as moisturising the leather. Scratches and scuffs mark the leather easier when the hide is dry.

Natural leather does change in appearance over time and with use and you may find that the whole item will soften in colour as it gets older.”

Thanks! How often do you recommend using the spray?

Honestly I’m not sure, I have only just bought my bag and I’ll be using it everyday so I was planning on spraying every week and then using the gel maybe once a month. I’ve only had mine for a week and haven’t been out much so I haven’t sprayed it this week. I sprayed it last week when I got it - let it dry and sprayed again on the same day before taking it out. I’d recommend spraying outside too it’s quite strong. Read back through the thread of this forum too the women on here have so much good advice, I took some screen shots to use of the conversations on what’s best.

You recommend spraying outside, but I can't do this because of where I am currently living. Spraying indoors with the windows open should be ok?

You could try but maybe spray a little first. It’s just strong and not very good to breathe in. Maybe do it and then leave the window open and close the door of that room and don’t go back in for a while leaving the room to air out.

Thanks for your help! I just received the gel and spray from Amazon today! I will give the spray a go later on... :D

Need some help here. I have recently gotten a medium lily and wore it for about a week so far. I noticed some bubbles forming on the leather. I’m so upset right now. I’ve been leaving it out to air for a week but it didn’t help. How can I remove these? Is this a leather defect? Strangely so many of these are forming on one corner of the bag.

On the Mulberry website, it recommends the Collinol leather cream to protect the handbags, but many other people recommend the spray. Is the cream enough on its own, or should I get the spray too? What is the different between the two?
I have a heritage Bayswater in Oak NVT and since I have to go outside to spray the bag, I rely most on the Collinil gel. I live in the Northeast USA and I’ve been caught in heavy downpour, snow all over my bag and wind blown rain. My bag is still spotless. The gel works awesome to protect my bag and it now has a beautiful patina. I also got caught in a downpour with a nude Bayswater and there were rain spots on the bag but when I got to the subway the rain spots disappeared.

I have on the corner f my Bella patch of leather (about 10x 6 cm) where the leather has gone hard after I used a gentle stain remover on it. Amy suggestions for softening the leather again would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

I recently purchased a second hand Mulberry Bayswater in Oak (approx. 6 years old), she looks a little dry and has some small water stains and i wanted to check i was on the right path with what i am thinking of doing care wise (i have read the thread but some information is a bit contradictory) should i:

1. just use collonil gel and then water stop spray
2. collonil leather cream, collonil gel and then water stop spray.

what do you think?? I'm so confused about what to do!

Hello!

I have this oxblood Clifton bag and I scratched it by accident and I am so upset with myself right now. Do anyone have any idea how do I reduce the visibility of the scratch marks?

I would consult a (trusted) cobbler. I had badly scraped shoes, which a cobbler was able to fix by buffing them with something. You could also try buffing it yourself with a soft cloth and collonil gel, for example.
