I snapped up my first Mulberry on the weekend & got a deer brown soft grain leather Bayswater, in love with it already! I got some leather cream today, the same that is on Mulberry's site, I was wondering when should I first apply this to the bag? Should it be now that I've got it or wait a couple of weeks. All thoughts are highly appreciated.

I always Collinil my bags immediately. If you Have a good poke about in the three threads at the top of the Mulberry forum, there's loads of advice and information about looking after different leather and other products you can use as well as Collinil. :smile1:

Lovely, thanks for your help!

That's ok. When you're flushed with a good amount of time, the older threads in these topics are worth a good mooch. I've learned loads of stuff from here :graucho: always good to look after your bags but some of the creams are soooo expensive. I've got a restorer cream from Clarkes that's great for £4... My older bags drink it up. I do colinil the newer ones first though... The old gals in my collection get the hardcore creams as they need to be cared for a little more than the newer ones. All good though... Enjoy your bag :D

Hello Ukpandagirl..what is the name of the cream you use for your older ones?I have a nvt oak bays and she is a very older bag ...

On new bags, unless they are very delicate I opt straight for Waterstop spray. I use the gel or cream on SLGs and then spay. I start to use cream or gel on a bag if it starts to look dry or is showing fingernail marks, etc. If I am using a cream or gel I still spray with Waterstop afterwards. :smile1:
As Ukpandagirl says there is a great deal of information available already....

Here's the old gal creams I use. I always test a tiny patch first but most of my old ladies are black, chocolate and khaki but they love this stuff. Obvious which does what!!

Cleaned my bella today with lord sheraton leather wipes and as always my leather sofas get wiped afterwards (waste not want not) Clearly I didn't wipe it properly today as you can clearly see the bit I missed at the bottom! Totally rate these wipes

Thankyou purseforum!
I had a panic this morning. Manged to get black eyeliner on my new blossom tote...! Tried rubbing, scratching and gel to no avail. Then i tried a trick from the forum, dabbing it lightly with perfume using a cotton bud and the stain just vanished! So relieved.

Just received my Olive tooled bayswater I got off eBay. This bag was a disaster, looks just like my Darwin Bayswater (tooling, rivets, scrolling, etc) but was full of the brown watermarks. I think we all know what those looks like, regardless of the color of the bag. Anyway, I was giving her the 'fill and empy' treatment and the water I emptied out was the color of tea :yucky: So I kept doing the process till the water was fairly clear. Now hanging upside down on a padded mop. I can already see some of the water marks are gone. Will post pics of the before and after when the bag is dry. Will return with updates :p

If there are any water marks left (before it's completely dry) try rolling the leather between your fingers this will disperse the water within and hey presto the mark will be gone - good Luck
