I'm thinking of purchasing a really badly water stained oak Bayswater for a very good price. If I purchase it I was thinking of trying the 'dunk in a bath full of water' trick in the hope to even out the patina. Has anyone else done this and have any tips?

Thanks!!

Hi there!

Can anyone please share information about how a black NVT will look after being treated with collonil gel?

Just received a second hand SBS in black NVT which, to my disappointment, look very glossy and kind of coated.

According to the seller this look is according to treatment with Collonil gel and will look less shiny with use. I'm a bit confused because I believe the gel would be more absorbed into the leather rather than stay on top like it's painted.

The bag has been authenticated so that's not the problem, it's just that it looks glossy and coated, there's usually more variations in the leather texture - especially on pre-loved ones.

So, anyone, can this look be normal due to collonil treatment?

No need to answer, seller admitted she put colour on the bag but claims it's appropriate treatment. :(

Help I have just tried to clean my pink glossy goat purse and made the stain worse. I used collinol gel and it has made the stain darker. Wasn't sure what the stain was

Here is my stain I have always put this purse inside a white cotton case to protect it. It is almost as if it has lost its colour. Help me please. I have only had this since Christmas !!!!!! The picture shows it lighter than it actually is.

I am new to Mulberry and I have recently purchased a pre-loved petticoat white Alexa with rose gold hard wear. The leather has already got some creasing and a slight pebbled look. I am just wondering what the best way to treat the leather. I understand that Collonil spray and gel are highly recommended but there are so many on Amazon and I am unsure what to use especially since it's a light colour. I have had a search around but the care thread seems to have mostly oak coloured leather. Any help would be great. Thank you :D

Are you wanting it to be more white or just improve the feel of the leather?

Collinil cream just softens and protects the leather. I've not got a white bag as I'm way too clumsy but I would think a cream rubbed in would be fine. I guess it depends what you're trying to achieve if that makes sense ;)

Hi just general care of the leather I think, its still a nice colour at the moment. Also I think I need to waterproof spray it too. Is there a set order it must be done? Cream then waterproof spray? It's all new to me so I just want to make sure I do everything properly.

Hi :)

I'm new to Mulberry and I have just bought my first - a preloved flame bryn which i have been searching for forever! I wear dark jeans a lot so i'm very conscious of colour transfer - will using a spray or gel (or both) prevent this completely, or will it just make it easier to come off? and is there a particular order in which you should do it?

thank you very much!!

Hi Laica,

Welcome to the forum :smile1:

Which type of leather is your bag made from? It may have a bearing on which product/s you should use.
