Just 2ml in size but as my first 'nice bag' is so pale and interesting its showing up a charm it's just under the lock and its a pebbled beige leather so I want to avoid any 'smoothing out' if possible of the napAny ideas.? yes I did cry a bit I'm sure one of the women at work did it as I did show it off a bit I guess then on the way home I noticed it!

I took my white spazzalato leather agenda out of a bag today, where it had been nestling in a white dust cover for a few months, only to discover some horrifying purpleish staining to the spine/edge of the front cover  I can only assume that a black cloth pouch has (somehow) leaked into it - but it's not even damp :confused1: Has anyone got any ideas how I can work a miracle and at least diffuse the damage a bit? :panic: Many TIA and desperation!!

Im trying bicarbonate of soda on a pre loved purse I received today which smells of cigarette smoke....it's currently wrapped in a paper towel, covered in bicarbonate and encased in a plastic bag!

Oh how awful. That person is evil. Not sure. Maybe do a search on this thread for biro marks?

I've been trying to rid a pre loved purse of cigarette smoke for two days now, using bicarbonate of soda, but the smell is still strong.

There are lots of suggestions on the Internet, white vinegar, coffee grounds, dryer sheets, fresh air etc, but my question is...how long am I looking at, weeks, months, to rid it of this hideous whiff? Has anyone on here been successful at doing the same with vintage leather goods?

If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them...thanks in advance.

As an ex smoker (8 years now) i can only tell you my experience of smelly bags ect....It will more likely take many, many months for it to go and the best thing for it is good airing and use. Being bagged up with cures is not really going to help - but fresh air will - eventually, not overnight though.

Lots of fresh air and another one more specific product is odour eaters designed for shoes if its nice get it outside on the line.
Sadly it can take months to eliminate nasty aromas its not a quick fix.

Thanks, yes I think I'm just very impatient as to how long it will take to get rid of the smell. Im going to get it out in the fresh air tomorrow...:smile1:

Hi there - Have just purchased my first mulberry :D. I have a black sbs and love her :smile1:. What would you recommend I do - collonil spray or gel her? I've noticed that collonil spray is not on the mulberry site but gel is. I have the spray already but just wanted to check before I go ahead. Many thanks.

Have a try with this product I have also used Clarks leather cream in my opinion this is much better, it moisturises and then seals I found with the Clarks cream it seemed to leave a residue hence changing to another product it goes miles too so very good value for money as it does two jobs.

Just to refresh this thread, I have since contacted Mulberry about the quality issues and the lost of shape on the side of the bags. They agreed it was a quality issue and have offered me a replacement. The CS team were pleasant to deal with.:smile1:
