I think the Joni was Hampstead leather.....perhaps one of he other ladies can confirm? :smile1:

Thank you! I had a quick look and apparently the Hampstead care card says 'A natural leather, texture is smooth and extremely supples. A special process is used which brings out the softness and colour. To remove marks and dirt simply wipe with a damp cloth.' So does this mean it is already waterproof and I don't need to treat it with any Collonil?

Hello everyone!
This is my first post on this forum. ;)
Please help - I bought a lovely printed croc nappa leather lily a week ago and noticed two scratches on the leathe already!!! :((. One is not so deep and one is quite deep with leather lifting. I am devastated - I didn't expect it to get scratched so quickly. I am trying to be very careful and don't know how it happened, must be the keys...

What do you think I should do:
1. Superglue it down (hm.... A dodgy option);
2. Leave it and hope it will add character to the bag???

Please let me know what You would do.

I always thought Mulberry leathers were sturdier than that! I bit disappointed. This bag was supposed to be my everyday bag smart enough to take me to the evening and smart events. But if it gets scratched so quickly...

Also after I got my lily I got the bug and wanted to get a Bay in oak but are having second thoughts now.

Many thanks in advance!

Xx

I treat the scratches on my other bags with leather nourishing foam.
It would make the damages look less visible (sometimes almost invisible).
But I'm not sure about Mulberry leather. :thinkin: So I've been babying my mini alexa.

What foam are you using?

I'm looking for some advice about cleaning light coloured roxy's if anyone has any?

I recently bought a pre-loved roxanne in pink glove leather and it's in great condition apart from the handles. In small patches it seems to have discoloured slightly yellow? I have cleaned her up lightly, but was unsure if further cleaning would help, ie is it dirt or wear?

Thank you in advance for any ideas or suggestions on handle restoration :)

Hi all,

I recently bought a glossy goat purse and I'm wondering if it's safe to use colonil waterstop spray and the gel on it for protection?

I can't see anything specific giving info in m.com.

Hello I've just received a nightshade croc print tillie in suede [courtesy of Cheshire Oaks ! ] and wanted to check here if a couple of light spays/dry with Collonil Waterstop during the course of today will be OK on this bag ? All my other bags are soft spongy leather and I use the Collonil on them. Thank you

Hi Laura, I had a look on m.com and it doesn't give any care info on the purse itself, does it?! The leather gel on m.com lists that it can be used on glossy goat:

The following talks about hand boarded goat, which may be helpful?

Following from these, I would call up Mulberry customer services and ask them :smile1:

Thanks CC!

I thought I was going mad when I couldn't see it. I'll be in the Glasgow store this week, so I'll ask the SA.

Thank you for this post and all the helpful tips. I have had my OS Alexa Oak for 1 month and already have managed to get some biro on it.... I nearly died when I seen it because I have been ever so careful with it knowing how much money my Husband spent on it.... eeeeeekk!!

Going to try some of these and hopefully the ink will have disappeared!

I have just purchased Mulberry Scarf Mud Print. It has a slight musty smell as it was stuck behind glass cabinet doors in John Lewis for about a century. Label says dry clean only - would I be wise to try hand wash? The manual one, not the machine programme.
It's 70% bamboo and 30% soya.
Thanks in advance :-)

If you just hang your scarf in a well ventilated place eg on the line providing its dry of course the smell will disappear really quickly, I have done this loads of times with vintage scarves sadly doesnt work with nicotine aromas though they do need to be cleaned.
I have the same scarf it's a lovely one

Acetone (nail polish remover) will remove fresh brio marks use the tiniest bit on the end of a cotton bud just work it off really carefully and slowly.

Hi guys, I want to rehabilitate this poor, abused Mabel. All I know is that it's pebbled leather (according to the care card); what would you guys recommend? I was thinking of going to Lovin' My Bags for one of their care kits..

I can help you with a clean up mission on this as it needs so much I will give you a list!
Hoover the suede inside pockets to remove debris the lining could be lifted up and carefully sponge any grub marks i would use a baby bath mix and sponge allow them to dry raised away from the rest of the bag. For the exterior I like this kit from the furniture clinic use the cleaner with the sponges that gets rid of any marks on the exterior, (stuff the bag back to original shape) I would then use recolouring gel when you use it it just brings it back to original colour as the leather plays a major role in the colour outcome, use a small amount and build it back to a darker shade if required. After applying to the handles hang the stuffed bag so the weight stretches the handles downwards removing creases.
Buff to seal in the colour then add the conditioner to seal in the new colour and moisturise (this also adds a waterproof finish) lastly air it and off you go new looking Mabel!
