I use the Collonil Waterstop spray for the outside of my bag, just wonndered in unlined bags, should we spray the inside with same or anything to keep it in good condition?

Hi Renabean. I have in the past removed denim dye from lemon Darwin with Colonil gel. However when I tried it on Foggy Grey Alexa it didm't have the same effect. Some ladies use baby wipes but I have read somewhere that these damage the leather due to the chemicals. I am surprised Conker Heritage Bays has suffered from Colour transfer. I have one but haven't used it yet.

This happens on my pink Effie (and the reason i decided to take back my grass green Lily). After i wear it, and if there is colour transfer on the back i wipe it gently with a slightly damp cloth, let it dry and then use the gel on it.
Only time wil tell if i am doing the right thing :wondering

Hi

I'm quite new to this site and just wanted some advice regarding a Mollie bag in Darwin Oak I have.

Ive not been as careful as I should have been and I want to spruce it up a bit. There are no noticeable stains on it but the colour is looking a bit uneven and I know it will be dirty so I'd like to firstly clean it and then nourish the leather and treat the scuffed corners.

From searching this thread, I have come up with a plan of wiping it over with Lord Sheraton leather wipes, then treating it with Collonil gel, but I'm still a bit concerned about ruining my bag. Do you think this would work or does anyone have any better solutions?

Many thanks x

Hi,
Which is best to use on a quite new Oak Alexa? Please
Saw on Mulberry.com a spray water stop? then heard there is a cream or something in the same make? sorry I have forgotten the makers name.
Bit confused as to which is best. and if they both protect from rain :confused1:

Thanks in advance :smile1:

Hi RustyDee,
I'd spray with the waterstop spray. Do a couple of coats initially and then try and spray regularly after that. I did this with my oak bays and it's really helped to protect it from marks and water!
Then you can use the gel later on if you think the leather looks dry and needs some moisturising.
Hope that helps x

Yes. thank you very much :smile1: x x

I have used this week the Collonil Suede/Leather cleaning foam and it did a pretty good job on suede. You have to apply the foam with a cloth, I used a muslin cloth and then rinse it with a little water to lift the dirt. The suede looks much better (not perfect) and remains buttery soft too.

Hi Pollypip,

I spray the insides of mine. Normal waterstop is fine or you can buy the Collonil suede & nubuck spray....Many of the ladies use liners to protect their bags also. :smile1:

I have a Collonil gel. It says "waterproofing gel".
Is it same as the spray? or is the spray better?

The spray is easier to use :smile1:
I was told by JenF

Sounds like the Gel more for moisturising & waterproofing the leather?

If that helps :smile1:

How much Collonil gel does everyone get through?
I bought my gel in early May and I'm almost out. I've only got the slim zip purse and a large messenger. My Brynmore needs gelling about once a week and I was just wondering if thats normal?

I bought an Alexa mini two days ago. The SA told me I can bring the bag to the store for some waterstop spray every now and then. But she said no when I asked her if the bag needs any gel or foam. :weird:
I used some nourishing foam on it anyway...

Hello everyone! I bought a Joni yesterday but I'm not sure what type of leather it is. Is there one type of Collonil that works for all the types of leather that Mulberry uses? I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to leather so I'm not actually sure what type of products I'll need to keep the condition, reading through this thread I think waterproofing is number one? Thanks :)
