Moving this to the care forum, and refining title for more exposure....

I've never taken any BVs to a cobbler for cleaning. My advice would be to call the Chicago boutique and talk to Kevin to see what his experiences have been, and what it would cost if you were to ship it to him.

my experience with BV bags and as a former BV SA is.....
they come cleaner but they don't come clean
BV does not treat their bags with any kind of chemicals to protect the leather
one of the reasons BV leather is so soft
I think the bags develop a patina that makes them better
I only have dark shade bags but I have heard that people wrap scarves around their handles to keep sweat stains off the handles.
One thing I do is I never put hand lotion on my palms
You could take it to a very good dry cleaner, one that you know cleans things like uggs.

Thank you for your help!

I am sorry to say that pinks do not come that clean
they come cleaner but not by much
all light colors from BV darken on the handles from your skin
try wrapping a scarf around the handles so they don't darken

I'm going to try use a soft gum by Collinol on my pre-loved BV pink handles. If it becomes a HG miracle charm then I'll recommend it to you OP.

My favorite color bag is camel and I think a nice dark patina around the handle is great but I'm the odd one out. I just noticed my Gucci hobo starting to darken and I kinda like it because it makes me feel like it's uniquely mine and I bought it at the boutique. I just feel when a bag wears it shows love for the bag. However, it does depend on if the bag has a patina or if it's showing significant wear as well.

I've owned by BV Intrecciato Tote (blue) for ~3 years, and as much as I try to take great care of it, the bottom corners have gotten slightly scuffed. Previous posters have said not to treat it with any lotions, etc. but is there any leather conditioning creams that are recommended?

I am also a newbie owner of a BV Intrecciato leather tote in brown. The sale assistant told me that I don't need to spray anything on it to protect. I have read so many comments here about protecting the leather with a waterproof product. Please advise because I am so confused now. Should I spray or should I not?
Any advise is welcome. Thank you so much.

i was wondering too if i should spray my montaigne intrecciato nappa leather in carmino... used her several times, got also caught in rain and fortunately it didn't keep any waterstains or drops on the leather, but of course i don't want to risk anything.
any advices?

my advice it to leave it alone
if it gets wet take everything out and let it dry out of direct light
the only time I would recommend spraying anything is on extremely light colors or white

Is there anything you can do for an older bag? I bought a black woven BV bag from the 1990's and it's showing some scuffing on the leather. The inside is a little dirty and the handle is showing some age, other than that, it appears in really in great shape!!!! (just won on ebay) I would like to SPRUCE it up a bit. Do you recommend I go to the BV store and ask if they will service the bag or is there a way to do it at home? The inside could use a cleaning and I read that someone paid $250 to replace the inside lining. I'm not looking to do that, I just wondered if there was a way to polish the bag, put something on the scuffs, shine it up perhaps? Here's a photo...

Lovely bag. I would take it to BV. The areas sounds large enough where a do-it-yourself might do more harm than good.
