Cleaning and Protecting the OUTSIDE of your BV

I'm also following this thread with interest - please keep the info coming, especially if any of you do use Modern Leather services. Do all the BV stores do the spa treatment, then? I wonder what products they use, as it doesn't seem that they recommend anything, in contrast to some other companies like Mulberry who specifically advise that you buy a particular product (Collonil, in their case) for pre-treatment for rain protection. Do BVs come with a leather care card?

I came here specifically to ask if anyone had used Modern Leather. I'm glad others are also interested.

I'm looking for a large Veneta in the Eclipse color (#6305 I believe). There is one large eclipse on ebay, however it is in questionable condition. I'm Thinking of sending pictures to Modern Leather for a quote,
Before I buy it. Thus my interest.

My care card says,"The leather used for this handmade product is naturally dyed and untreated. It is therefore a delicate product. Please avoid all contact with water, oil, direct light sources and light colored clothing."

Hi there!

I recently bought a preloved BV tote bag in a lighter color (peachy). It isn't in terrible shape but I'd love to give her a good cleaning before I start using it. I know that most recommend bringing it into BV for service but will they accept a bag that I don't have an original receipt for and is this old?
