Probably catering to the nouveau rich market with all the logo manias since they seem to be selling really well.. in Asia I guess..Agreed, Coco Neige was just too much for me. Really wish they would adopt some of the sensibilities towards logos they have with haute couture for the RTW collections, but the client base for Couture is drastically different.
Why is this $17000.00View attachment 5227636 can someone explain?
Your Rome jacket and Snowball's blue Greece jacket are my favorites. I was preoccupied with other things in life back then but now I realized how much I have missed! VV just doesn't make jackets like them in RTW now.Dear Snowball, I didn’t have in mind these pants, they are pre fall, and they look good on you. The fabric is fine and the cut is nice. My only problem with them is that they a cotton and might stretch while sitting for long period. Of course the price puts me off. I had in mind the fall winter collection pants that are not only wide, but have pockets at leg and sipper and another fabric at the bottom of the leg.
I love the pre fall pants with the black jacket. I however still think that the black Paris Rome jacket is better in terms of details.
I loved the styling my SA made with your pants.
I was told the logos are individually laser cut and it's a time consuming process...Why is this $17000.00View attachment 5227636 can someone explain?

ari, I agree with you that the fit of the recent pants is quite challenging. Especially for me as I am short! I did buy one pair this F/W
primarily because of the wonderful feel of the fabric. Imagine your oldest, softest flannel shirt but even more lightweight, then Chanel applied a bit of sparkle. They are SO light and comfortable on, like wearing pj's. This pic is pre- alteration - there is almost 18" of fabric tucked under before hemming and puddling on the floor making these look like clown pants on me but my seamstress assures me they will be fine after she finishes working on them. I had loved how costa paired this jacket with these pants, the jacket is also pre-alteration, I loved the beautiful buttons. I have no need for yet another black jacket but I do reach for them often and this one is really pretty IRL. I also picked up a sweater coat from last year but forgot to take a pic, will post later. Also looking at a cardigan but that will be all for me this season, I am so looking forward to Cruise/Spring/Summer where I am seeing much more that interests me.View attachment 5228388View attachment 5228389View attachment 5228390
Agree 100% on the Paris Rome jackets- I have both the black and the brown tweed one with all the matching skirts/pants etc.
That was probably one of the best collections ever. P, I thought they were expensive back then! Seems like a bargain now...
Allisonfaye, are you in the US?

I think this is not sustainable business model, usually they’ll be one time buyers, how many clothes with the same logo will they need?Probably catering to the nouveau rich market with all the logo manias since they seem to be selling really well.. in Asia I guess..
Logos, logos and more logos…
Pics credit to little red book user…

As much as I want Chanel to succeed and be profitable, I'm hoping that it isn't primarily through the mega logo route (and truly ridiculous pricing).I think this is not sustainable business model, usually they’ll be one time buyers, how many clothes with the same logo will they need?
I believe that they do not sell as much as they say, just creating a rumor that the collection is sought after. Based on the questions I get from SAs..
That is such a long time, but I'm glad it finally made its way bAs much as I want Chanel to succeed and be profitable, I'm hoping that it isn't primarily through the mega logo route (and truly ridiculous pricing).
As for how sales are going now or through the past summer, I only yesterday received my metiers "dalmatian" sweater jacket that needed to be taken in (bought the 3rd week of July)---and was told it was taking so long because the boutique had sold so much, they were incredibly busy, and they were backed up with alterations. This was from the a boutique in a city that is known to be pretty traditional, so kind of surprising to me, if much of their sales success is due to the logo mania.
