Chanel RTW ~ Reveals, Chit-chat & Info thread

@kipp, I would love to see an action pic of your new jacket! I’m thrilled you finally got it!

I picked up a sleeveless zippered top and dress from this collection, and felt the shoulder didnt comport (lie well against) my own shape even with it fitted to my own shoulder. the Greece shoulder made me feel broad and hunched over, IDK why. (I have a friend coming in Saturday to take stuff and theyre in the pile
I think the cut works for flat chested people. Most of you ladies have curves so it fits differently.

you have the best collection Ari!
i tried on that coat you and snowball both have if you recall. the cut of the shoulders work great on me. (I didn't buy that coat because the condition was not "very good".) If you ever want to let go of the blue jacket you know who to call

do you mind showing a close picture of the data center tweed? it looks so interesting!
Ahaha! I’ll have this in mind.
The data jacket was a lucky find during the 2018 summer sales, I loved it at the show but bought the black suit from the first looks /I haven’t worn as much as I thought/ and I was so happy to find it during sales.

it is exquisite. thank you so much for sharing with us. Karl was such a genius
The way he mixed colors and fabrics/texture was second to none.

I second that I would love to see alterations before and after pictures.
I also recall one of the ladies here bought the metiers lasage jacket with panels and a belt, and it would need an alteration? I would love to see the finished product too.
Yes - I’ve just received it back so your post is well timed! I’ve attached some of the original photos - I loved the colours of this lesage jacket but the sides were open and I wasn’t sure about the belt so discussed different options with the Chanel tailoress. In the end she surprised me with her solution which I love - she put a discrete zip in the sides so it can be securely worn as a jacket & made the belt removable - it sits higher up at my waist level and is attached with poppers. The zip can just be partly opened to allow the belt to be used. So I can now wear the jacket with sides open/ closed (which will be most of time)/ belt on or belt off. As much as I love the color and the lesage of the blue jacket, the cut of the Greece collection shoulders doesn’t flatter me .. the same with the other cream jacket from the same collection.
I have one lesage jacket from Data center collection that is perfect in every account.
Love the length of the data centre jacket on you - having said that the other jackets look pretty perfect too! Great collection x

what a great idea. Their tailoring service really made a huge difference. Congratulations!

Thank you Kipp!

Exactly my feeling..

Ahaha!
With all this talk about the Paris-Rome jacket I decided to wear it today, I still think this is one of the best jackets in the recent years, that can be updated with new accessories.
It’s something that can be worn casually without pushing it too much and to special occasions. Now everything is either too casual/pre fall collection/ or very formal shiny, embellished looks / Metier d’art and fall winter collection.
Yummy Paris Rome LBJ!

Thank you Kipp!

I agree! I actually took mine back in a couple of years later and had the shoulder pads revised for a stronger shoulder. I have the saddest shoulders on the planet despite going to he gym. They always need help with pads. I had this jacket out for inspection the other day, and it has held up much better for me than it did for others who had a bad pilling problem with it.

Such a clever idea! Kudos to you and the tailor!

Grace Kelly - I believe you had something to do with the idea to close the sides . Thank you for this!

I had discussed discrete hooks on the side but because I’d mentioned I was worried they might open, the tailoress went further and put in the zip which makes a huge difference. The colours of this piece and the pink lining are just sublime. I don’t think the photos do it justice !
