My friend tried it on and it seemed tts. It’s fabric and seems to be a shorter jacket, at least it didn’t strike me as cropped. It was actually quite nice and the buttons were blingy but simple.

@gracekelly, some outfits used to come with camellia pins made of tweed or fabric to match the outfit. 8 always thought I could someday take my scraps and do that and then pin them on a lapel or hat.
I went to chanel today to look at sweaters, and ask what my SA thought of a 19 bag for me. I fell in love, basically at first sight, with a lesage coat with some removable shearling. so here it is (it is a bit sparkly, but wearable for day; looks matte, not sparkly, in my pics. Not too warm; good for transitional weather. It’s not black and white either; it has some blue and pink? ochre ; hard to describe. Expensive, but I rationalize it by deciding i will refrain from buying two jackets or several sweaters. And wear it with jeans for better cost per wear.
My SA said alterations are very backed up, so I’ll wear it until next spring and then take it back then to shorten sleeves in the off season (Or, if I’m too impatient, just have my tailor do it). I love it so much, I wore it out of the store with Dior denim dress, doc martens, and custom Buffalo Dalmatian hand stitched bag from Duret in Paris.

by the way, I had two chanel puffy jackets, one from Chanel’s first ski line, years ago, (the other now in my moms closet) and for warmth, moncler, herno or Arc’teryx is better for warmth factor, JMO
edit: my SA did say if it snagged, not to worry but chanel would fix it, which makes me think it’s probably a bit fragile for my lifestyle, but i love it too much to worry about that lol

I have this jacket. Its 80% wool..
Its boxy cut and drop shoulders..and sits just below the waist. Not as cropped as those 21k versions.
i have to get it altered (take in the back to bring the shouldershigher up very slighlty so tt it doesnt look droopy) despite buying it in my size. 34.
I realised that VV's jackets seem to be slightly bigger then the older jackets. I have 3 vintage jackets i bought recently.. 2 are from 2006-2008 in 34 and they fit perfectly. Not sure if it's just me though

I had discussed discrete hooks on the side but because I’d mentioned I was worried they might open, the tailoress went further and put in the zip which makes a huge difference. The colours of this piece and the pink lining are just sublime. I don’t think the photos do it justice !

It is a lovely gold colour though - not brash but very elegant. The colourful jacket was a cotton lighter jacket - possibly from a previous season or year.I keep going back to your piece! Very sweet of you to remember, but the idea of a zipper was pure genius on the part of the tailor. I have seen older jackets that have front zippers that have zipper pulls on both ends so that you can adjust the front in interesting ways. I agree that the VV jackets are cut a little bigger. I think it is vanity sizing,lol!
Yes I saw this double zip on one of the 21K tweed winter coats - it’s great as you could open the coat from to top (to accommodate a bulky scarf) or from the bottom to style better. Very versatile and a clever idea. Looks like KL’s little tricks are still filtering through the current collections!

You are probably right - it would make sense but I’ve only seen it on one item in store. My jackets have buttons. Hopefully someone else can confirm on this!
Yes I think quite a few jackets have these zips. I have one from the very last Largerfeld collection.
Yes, my Paris-Salzburg grey wool jacket (metiers 2015) has the long front double-zip.
