My SA was so certain about the tunic for me she insisted that I at least buy it and put it in my NM "closet" and think about it (I can always return) she was that adamant about it. Like 880 said, she considered it super versatile and was a great piece to wear for a casual dinner out- comfortable and stylish at the same time! She is rarely wrong so I techinically own it but not sure I will keep it.
Depends on how I feel about the other items when they arrive. I love it with the leggings P! Apparently there is huge demand for it and it is selling briskly.

I think the black tunic is soooo cool ! I love the details. There hot pink version of it lines the cropped black jacket. It was cute. It was short !! I also saw the purple jacket which I thought was really pretty. I squeezed into the 36 :). Loved the tweed. I could see it fuzzing eventually.

It’s basically a tunic top, so
color: Black (okay, not black, too waiter like) , navy, white, beige, taupe, olive

styles Cargo pants, cigarette pants, classic trousers, cropped loose pants; denim joggers; loose pajama pants (Turnbull and Asser makes some as does Dior) (brunello does a bunch of pants),

short skirts; long skirts either full like Dior or slim, but I think maybe a swing skirt or if you wanted to be a femme fatale, a dolce and gabbana bias cut ;

leggings (wolford makes some pleather ones) or vuori joggers lol

shoes: classic two tone ballet flats; all black designer collaboration Birkenstock’s, elastic leather stiletto boots (Manolo, Rossi), H flat sandals

as @pigleto972001 suggests but with chunkier boot, shoe boot or somethingo ground the tunic.

or (whispers) with shorts or over a bathing suit (i mix blue and black, so blue camo Dior shorts or black or beige moncler shorts) and a white sneaker. I wear birkenstock sneakers Or golden goose

I still buy designer shoes, but with designer RTW, I think a contemporary shoe or cheaper something, brings the look down to earth. Of course YMMV

hugs

hereare brunello pants that could work: beige twill cargos, brunello grey linen pants; and, olive high waisted pants; plus a pair of moncler shorts, all of which I wear with chanel tops to tone the chanel brand down. the pants and wolford hoodie are this season.

Thank you so much @880! The tunic was pretty long on me, practically a mini dress but I couldn’t help but feel like I forgot my pants if I was to wear it as a dress. Definitely have to give this top some thought.

I usually ask my chanel SA whether something should be hemmed up if I think it’s too long. Or I consider whether I would wear it belted.

the I forgot my pants look can be fun too lol :) then it can go with chanel flip flops or sneakers

@911snowball, I almost think it’s like a desert island piece, if you love it. It could even go with cut off jeans, if you remember those days. I don’t see it with the cuffs buttoned and starched, bc then I would feel like Carolina Herrera. Think more renee Zellweger and her battered croc kelly. That kind of style

JMO of course

880 you made me smile re: cutoff jeans. Can remember like it was yesterday! The last time my SA ever strongly "insisted" on anything was back in 2019 for the gray jacket with the chain detail. And wouldn't you know it, I have worn that jacket SO MUCH, it goes with everything. Huge value purchase for me.
Her affection for this tunic really caught me off guard- but I completely agree, if I don't really love it after trying it again I'm not keeping it. I have to feel the love for 3k for a shirt for sure!

880, oh how I love your style! And thank you for the visual trip through Italy - you two are gorgeous!

KA, December? Wow! no problem to touch and try on at NM though. That is ridiculous that you need to wait.
Hello everyone! I stopped by my boutique but most of the pieces I had requested had not yet arrived.
costa, I ordered both the black jacket with the sparkle buttons and the grey plaid trousers. I had not thought to wear them together but after seeing your pic, I love the look! I am short and ordered the pants on a whim thinking they would overwhelm me in pattern
(I am just 5' 4") but my excellent seamstress will make it work I hope. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
I tried on this black blouse - very pretty but unsure how much I would wear it. I have nothing else to show as I am still awaiting my
items to arrive in store View attachment 5216927View attachment 5216930
Snowball
After trying and thinking about the black tunic - I actually went back to buy it - at first I wasn’t sure how to wear it but then decided it might be quite useful.
I paired it with the winter crop jacket which has a pink lining I the same pattern as silk jacquard of the tunic.
Unexpected but quite a fun set

You look fantastic! This combo is gorgeous on you!

You’ll have to mull it over :-)
It can we worn over tights as a sassy dress- or with pencil wool pants for a holiday “tuxedo” look.
I plan to wear mine tucked in with dark suits, as well-
I’ve been waiting for a black silk Chanel blouse-
I like that the silk is thick and luxurious feeling

Has anyone seen or tried this dress ? I’m obsessed w it even thought it’s prob short on me and I don’t like t necks. Lol.

I asked my sa about those pants. He said they sold out pretty quickly at least at neimans.

I've seen this dress. Material feels really soft and comfortable. It's a beautiful fall/winter colour and quite versatile.
I didn't try it on because they don't have large sizes, and my SA did say it's more of a body-fitted cut and probably too short for me :giggle:
