Tried on some coats.
Does Chanel make knee length coats? It seems to have either full length or slightly below hip length and there is nothing in between. I'm bored of solid color coats but there was nothing this season that works for my height (5'4"). If anyone has suggestions please do share:)
Brooklynite, the denim jacket looks great on you!
Here there are some coats in this collection, I love the white, but it’s shiny and expensive.
I see in the boutique last year Metier d’art coat is still available, black, knee length and with some embellishments.
I’ll try to find a picture of Amanda Sanchez wearing it, it looked great on her. Found it

Thank you for thinking for me Ari! I actually tried the coat with the same fabric and cut without the embellishment. I had high hopes.
Then when I saw the coat my heart sank. The fabric was intentionally a pilling look...I'm sorry but it looked cheap or very worn...
The hunt continues...
The cashmere tweed look interesting. I'll have my SA look out for me. Thank you so much!

I love the denim on you! You look amazing! I also love brunello cuchinelli for outerwear and my SA recommends some pieces for women who are 5’2- 5’4. @Allisonfaye, our tour of solemeo was amazing! Hugs

That is the very same reason I didn’t buy this coat, I hate the pilling look fabric, and there are more of these in the pre fall collection. It does look cheap! I love the white coat, I haven’t seen it in person yet . Please do post pictures when you get it!

We always speak of Lesage, but has anyone heard of Linton tweed? When I look at some of their swatches online, I recognize recent Chanel collections. . .

"Initially Linton employed two salesmen with ponies and traps who travelled the Lake District buying wool and selling woollen suit lengths. William Linton’s great friend, Captain Molyneux, was a Parisian couturier who in the 1920s introduced him to a dynamic young lady called Coco Chanel. This began an association which has flourished over the years resulting in the house of Chanel being Linton’s biggest and most prestigious customer."

very interesting ...

very interesting ...

@Karenaellen
Linton is the company that makes a much of the woven tweed that Chanel uses. Lesage is a different process and more labor intensive and expensive. If you are a home sewer or have things custom made, you can purchase Linton tweed.

Alteration question---has anyone here experienced truly excessive alteration times for items purchased at a Chanel boutique?
I purchased something the end of July and they are now telling me that it won't be ready until October 20th.
It didn't occur to ask me how long it would take when I purchased the item since it didn't matter that much to me then---but on the other hand, I had never had to wait over 2 months for an alteration.

That's sounds excessive. Have you asked your sa about it?
