I did that. The shoes are narrow so you tend to size up to compensate. I rarely wear mine because I don't like the fit.
I'm not sure how long ago you purchased your espadrilles, but they recently changed the fit a few seasons ago. Earlier, they ran super narrow for me, and I could hardly even get them on. Now, they are much wider and comfy. even on the loose side, at least to me.

Maybe try on a new pair? I am so glad I tried them again, as they now fit great and I love them for summer.

Hello! Was hoping that someone could share an image of the sole on your left shoe  I recently purchased this pair that I’ve been on the hunt for…but I’m not sure if it’s normal for the sole to look like this (missing tread and small size of tread in the shoe). Please help!
Hi! I have two pairs, and I just checked both. They look like your bottom. Also, I'm a size 38 too!

Hmm, interesting! Maybe they changed the molds for the soles at some point. Thank you both for your help - much appreciated.

Unfortunately the shoes will be going back since there were several other red flags and they just didn’t feel right on. I’m back on the hunt…any idea if they’ll bring this style back anytime soon?
Hi, I don't have a picture of my shoes right now, but one of my espadrilles pair has the same "inconsistency" on one shoe. I know because I noticed the same thing and wondered. I have a few pairs of Chanel espadrilles and its only that one pair that has this specific inconsistency.
I purchased both of them from the Chanel boutique.

They may bring it back. I’ve seen them over several seasons.
How about the classic white leather pair with black toe? I love mine.
Yes, if they look off, they are probably fake. I think there are a lot of fake espadrilles out there.

Beautiful (the white leather with the black toe)! How long have you had those for and are they hard to keep clean? Thank you for sharing the photo!

Agreed. I’m 99% sure they’re fake…I’m no expert but it’s pretty obvious. Hard to believe it passed QC to be resold as “guaranteed authentic”.

I love white shoes and have a lot of them. No matter what other colors I buy for the summer, I keep going back to my whites. Whites stay clean longer that you think. They may get scuffed a bit, but the fabric ones will get dirtier faster, especially if it rains. If dirt is your concern, I would not go with fabric.

I'm a big Chanel fan and only buy Chanel shoes. What about the classic ballets? Have you considered them?
I love the espadrilles, they are super summery, but I could not walk all day in them. The soles are very rigid, so I find I walk a little bit like a duck in my espadrilles. It's kind of cute as I sort of have a springy bounce  , but they are not as comfy as my ballets. I can and have walked all day in the City in my ballets, including my white ballets. I have tons of ballets, they are a classic and they go with everything.

If you want to get espadrilles (everyone needs a couple of pairs of course!), I would suggest the white leather ones. They are super comfy, and they can work for super casual and also a bit dressier in the summer. To me, the fabric ones can only work super casual because of the raw frayed edges on the big CC logo. However, if that's the look you want, stay with fabric as you will not find a raw edge version in the all leather.

Good luck to you!

I got my true size and they are tight!!! In ysl espadrilles im 38 and they

oh my. Looks like I made a mistake then! I was like “i dont think its normal to be sweating trying to put these on” and she said “they will stretch a lot of people have the same problem “ and then a stranger walked up to me to confirm it!!!
I guess ill just try and break them in at home and have them for occasions i barely need to walk LOL.

oh thanks for the input. It is a bit late for me but i guess i know now for next time! Hope you are enjoying your pair!!

Are you using a shoe horn?

Hi everyone! I’d like to get my first pair of espadrilles but thinking about waiting for my trip to Spain in the summer to grab a pair. Has anyone been recently and perhaps know what colours styles they have in Spain that perhaps we don’t have in America or Canada? Or is it usually the same colours/styles for all countries?

I think it's pretty much the same colors for espadrilles, and there are not that many colors this season anyway.
I personally would not wait to get them in Spain. Espadrilles are hard to find, and most boutiques get only one or maybe two of the same size. Depending on where you go in Spain, there may be one or two stores vs. the whole of the US or Canada.

The hot colors go fast. The 22P espadrilles are already out now, they will be gone by summer. Not sure what color you were thinking, but I would just get them now while they have your size.

Good luck and have fun in Spain!

That’s good to know. Thank you! I always thought that perhaps other countries had different seasonal colours. I’ll be in Barcelona for a bit and thought I’d give it a shot there. I mostly just want something neutral - if there’s no seasonal colours that interest me I would just go for the classic black leather.

Maybe try the classic beige with black cap toe. That goes with everything, and since the espadrille is a summer shoe, I personally think the beige is more summer than an all-black espadrilles. My favorite is the white espadrille, but it is not available every year. The beige one seems to come back every year.
