I just got a pair of chanel espadrilles after searching for a few years. I got lucky and found them on vacation. I am finding them super super tight i can barely get my feet in but the SA (and a random watching me) told me they stretch a lot? The size up was just a bit too big…. Did anyone else have this problem?

The older espadrilles run narrow. I could barely get my feel into them, and I could not wiggle my toes. The new espadrilles are cut wider, so you may want try and find this season's (or last season's) espadrille. I'm not sure how much they will stretch to make it feel comfortable. For me I could even barely put them on, so the opening was even tight for me which I doubt the opening itself will stretch that much.

I passed on the tight one and waited for last season's espadrille which fit much better on me. If you are looking for the classic beige/black combo, they are not hard to find. Don't get them if they are too tight.

The SA told me the same thing when I purchased my first espradille years ago. Now I cannot even fit in them anymore (either I am gaining weight or my feets are getting bigger ) I bought another pair in different style but one size up and they fit comfortably. Will definitely sell the old pairs. My suggestion don’t buy the tight one.

Hi! I’m looking to buy my first pair of espadrilles in lambskin I don’t know what size to get because of the stretching, I’m usually a 5.5-6 US and my Gucci espadrilles are a size 36. Will a 36 be good or go down a size?

oh my. Looks like I made a mistake then! I was like “i dont think its normal to be sweating trying to put these on” and she said “they will stretch a lot of people have the same problem “ and then a stranger walked up to me to confirm it!!!
I guess ill just try and break them in at home and have them for occasions i barely need to walk LOL.

I had to wait for months to get my size in this but it's finally here!

For everyone wondering what size to get, my usual size is US 6 in all shoes except for the leather espadrilles. 36 was loose for me and it also stretches over a period of time so I've gone with 35. It's really comfy and can't wait to start wearing it!

After trying the espadrilles several times over the past year to identify my size, I have figured that it's best to go down a size. I'm a US 6 and 36 is consistently big for me in the espadrilles. Plus they open up!

Ah! I can barely get my real size on and questioned if I should have gone a size up. Once I get them on the top part is tight (but I think that will loosen a bit). I dont have petite cute feet though. I am a size 38. Damnit you guys are so lucky that yours are comfy.

I'm sure it will loosen up!

I wish Chanel had been consistent with their espadrille sizing!!

They are tricky because they tend to be narrow which is why lots of people recommend sizing up. That said, they shouldn't be slipping down as you describe it. I would consider trying a different pair at the store and maybe get them exchanged if you still can.

36 might be good fit. The espadrilles comes in whole size. If you are 5.5 , you can go 36. Chanel shoes usually run small. I am us 7, but for Chanel I have to go 7.5/37.5. My espadrilles are 38. 37 is tight on my feet. Hope it helps.
+10000. In the old days 37.5EU was a 7US, but its standardized now to above
I have exactly the same experience @Styleanyone
@bfly, i size up in espadrilles bc I found they didn’t stretch much too
@Phanlee91, they should not slip down in the heel. If its too late to return, perhaps a tongue pad on the top of the upper (so long as there is sufficient room in the front of the shoe and won’t stretch it out) will help to push your foot back into the heel

Hello! Was hoping that someone could share an image of the sole on your left shoe  I recently purchased this pair that I’ve been on the hunt for…but I’m not sure if it’s normal for the sole to look like this (missing tread and small size of tread in the shoe). Please help!

Hi, I don't have a picture of my shoes right now, but one of my espadrilles pair has the same "inconsistency" on one shoe. I know because I noticed the same thing and wondered. I have a few pairs of Chanel espadrilles and its only that one pair that has this specific inconsistency.
