Hi all!

Any ladies or gents here who have purchased a medium CF in 2014 from boutique and one recently (after 2022)?

My question is, is the strap in the 2014 longer than the one after 2022?

Please only reply if you purchased from Chanel in both occasions.

Hello ladies!!

I own two small Chanel accessories (card folder and another small vintage accessory) but no bags.

I just passed the VA bar wnd my fiance wants to take me to Chanel for my first bag! He has graciously offered a range of $5K to $8K.

I have my eyes on various pieces, but curious what you ladies would recommend in this range?! and is this ok to discuss with SA via text beforehand (we have her contact details and she said we could text her). I don’t want to be uncouth but think it is also a good idea for her to know what we are working with in case she has a back stock of certain pieces I wouldn’t otherwise consider. Thanks all!

Debating if I should sell my small classic flap (year 2022). Was quoted 15% loss (from price I bought). Such a dilemma because I rarely used my bag and don't have many occasions to carry it. Yet it's so beautiful and my dream bag. :(

Congrats and how fun!

I shopped in 2 Chanels this week, one in a NM in CO then my local boutique. I don’t have an SA at either but at both stores they were opening closets and cabinets for me to look in while shopping. You’ll know the one when you see it!

Do you think in the future you might have places to wear it? If it’s your dream bag, I’d hold onto it. If you really need the money or have a purchase in mind that you’ll wear more often and still feels timeless, I’d sell.

I have another medium classic CF (different size and leather) so that can still be my timeless bag. But the small size looks best on me. :( The other seasonal pieces aren't as timeless though. Thanks for your input!

I have this tote in white. I love the tote but I don’t use it, I realize the color is just not something that fits my wardrobe and have big regrets buying it in white. I’ve seen @Swanky post a photo of her beige one and I lust after it each time. What are people’s thoughts on dying Chanel leather bags? Anyone recommend? Pros/cons? Or should I just rehome this beauty since it will only sit in my closet?

I'd sell it honestly, while it's still pristine! I don't sell bags, or shop preowned, but I'd never buy a re-dyed bag. So, I'd preserve it's value and sell, not dye.

Thanks for your thoughtful advice. I’m not an experienced preowned seller and don’t buy to sell my bags either so I was hesitant to sell also. I just received a $2600 quote from fashionphile, I’ll sit on it and debate for a bit but you’ve definitely swayed me away from dying it so at least that’s cleared up! Thanks again

Don’t sell it! When I first got my Chanel classic bags, I hardly used them, but now they’re my go-to bags. I sold my mini rectangular and took a 25% loss, which I deeply regret—not to mention it costs so much more now to replace it. Classic pieces are just that: timeless. Even if you’re not reaching for it right now, you’ll be glad to have it in the future.
