Major congrats on becoming a homeowner. Shopping for a new bag is so much fun, especially if it’s a dream Chanel. I am not an authentication, but I would be very careful with the above bag. I think it is not authentic, but you should post in the authentication thread or get it authenticated by a professional service. If the deal is too good to be true it probably is.
Thank you so much for your reply! Do you know any authentication threads to recommend me? I do like the discussion and finding out what the various indications are to everyone :)

Hey loves!
Sorry this doesn’t answer your question but I have a question of my own and I can’t make any posts since I’m a new member, BUT it is about a Chanel Boy!
This is my very first Chanel bag purchase. I’ve always dreamed of having one but due to my earlier years saving for a home, I had to ignore all temptations and stay tamed!
However, since now first home purchase has been made... it’s time ladies >
So I know I can buy new but I came across a pre-owned that was in really good condition and such a good price! It’s just too hard to pass up but it also seems too good to be true. Can anyone authenticate this Black Chanel Boy with silver hardware for me?? Xo Thank you!
<Info provided on the post>
Year: 2021
Color: Black (metal fittings are silver)
Material: Calfskin
Provided measurements: Approximately 15 cm in length x 25.0 cm in width x 9 cm in height
Serial#: 303178x8 (this is what I could make out from the photos. I wasn’t sure if the 7th number was a 0 or a 6?)
Im a huge fan of boy bags!!! I‘d also agree this one isn’t authentic. What’s that in the background? The box?

ookay you guys are really making me think of buying a boy bag instead of saving for a classic flap. A conversation that has been going on in my head for a lonnnggg time.

Below is a pic of me w. a new medium in a boutique in 2018- ignore bag pic quality. Classic medium posted for reference. I actually really want the old medium, as I thought the new looked a bit large on me (I'm 5'6 but thin).

To OP- I've heard not great things about the weight of the 19. I mean, yes stunning, but heavy. And anyway like others have said boy bag is 1000% different :)

Actually it is great news that Youtube ppl are hating on the boy bag if you are a buyer in the used market. It means prices/demand may dip a bit ;) better deals for us! No so great for sellers though.

It's hard decision. They both look great on you. Is the boy also medium? Red color really looks great in black outfit :)

I agree w/you. The old medium might be a better size to your body frame. This one looks very big on you with the crossbody. Probably holding it or shoulder would look less big.

It's still a very relevant bag to me. They increase the prices on it all the time, so that means it's a classic item and still has a lot of interest from buyers. I don't let Youtube people guide decisions for me anyway, I just use them to see what fits in what bag:biggrin:

The red is a new medium (so bigger than the old medium)! I love red bags. I think I want the red for classic flap and the black for the boy bag. I am 28, and my style is for sure funky/eclectic so I personally think the black classic flap looks a bit mature on me.

I'm a new member so I can't make a post about this (sorry!!) but I did buy a pink chevron boy last week. When I unboxed it, I noticed it had several dents on it. I set it out (with the strap hanging over the chair so the hardware wouldn't rest on it and cause more dents) and hoped it would puff up a bit. After a week, it hasn't. I took it back to the store and showed it to them and they implied it was my fault for resting the hardware on it (I didn't) and I told them that it was like that since unboxing. They told me to buff it out. I'm disappointed and concerned because at this price point I'd expect the bag to be in pristine condition? This has never happened with any of my other Chanels. Any advice? I still have a few days to return it, but I really do like the bag. They didn't have any others of this style in store.

If the dents bother you, it is a sign to return. You need to ask yourself whether you can accept them with the price $ that you have paid vs you love it more. Based on what you described above, it would bother me more about the customer service treatment for high end handbag and implication that you lied! Based on what I read, Chanel is not known for excellent customer service though.

Which season is this pink? Reason I asked is I have a pink chevron boy en-route to me as well from 19S

The customer service is what is very, very disappointing - especially after trying to work with them today. Corporate was super nice/helpful when I called, the store staff was super rude and dismissive and had a bit of a pretentious attitude. They said it's normal, even though I told them none of my other bags have it. Their response was "return it if you're not happy with it." I asked if they could help me find another, their answer was pretty much no, and that even if they did "it might look worse than this one." I've bought less expensive designer bags and they've always been inspected beforehand and if there was any imperfections, they'd get me another one without me asking. To say I caused the damage when it came out of the box that way is just rude. I kind of feel like if I was more dressed up going into the store they would've treated me differently, honestly. (I have double hand surgery coming up and it's really hard for me to get dressed, can't wear makeup, etc right now due to hand injuries - all I can wear are huge sweats that are easy to get on/off lol). I think you made a good point though - I'm wondering if it's a sign this is not the bag for me, even though I love the hardware and really like the color.

I'm not sure what season it is, I can't find it on their website actually. I tried to enter the style number but nothing came up. I think it's almost sold out nationwide though, there was only one other store in the US they said might have one.

I love Chanel bags, but no bag is worth misery. If the pink boy is no longer available, so be it. Your SA is not doing you a favor by selling you a crappy piece. Don’t settle. Get a new SA & before you know it you will fall in love with some other bag. I know it‘s hard, but you deserve better & I’m absolutely positive that you will get something better. Good luck, sweetie.

I only keep my boy bag for 2 year.
Already sold it yesterday.
I like boy bag because i’m not a really “girly style” person.
But my concern was it’s more heavy after using it (around) an hour, on my shoulder.
