Get the boy bag if you like it! I don’t think it’s been replaced by the 19. More like it’s counterpart/sister, coz the 19 has a softer more relaxed look. The boy is more structured. It’s still considered a classic imo. My fave size is the small boy & looks less boxy imo! Just fyi, I own the boy woc and the 19 small. I got love for both

I totally agree about the small boy. It is size wise maybe a bit small if you are used to bring all your stuff along but look wise it’s for me the prettiest one. I love it, and find (especially) the large too boxy.

youve been seeing all those you tube fashion bloggers dissing the boy lately like I have, haven’t you. It’s so annoying. I hope they don’t influence you that way if you really love the bag. They say the same doodoo about the chloe Nile and I’m keeping mine regardless of the sad things they say. None of them dare say anything about those overplayed Gucci bags but they attack the boy. LOL. Nearly 10 years of popularity with the boy and suddenly they can’t stand the bag? (And handful I saw have literally said they can’t stand the bag anymore)

I get where your question comes from, bc it seems like there is a downward turn to the interest in the boy.
But the era of the it bag is a little bit over to me. And none of the current “it bags” catch my attention, partly bc the designs don’t interest me, but also because luxury bags are now treated like fast fashion.

If you like the boy bag, it’s worth it to you. If you want to use it as your “next hottest newest purchase” maybe you might not get the wow these 19s are having.

Yesss, I have been watching a lot of videos on youtube where bloggers are dissing the boy bag! Lol!!
Thats why I got so upset but I totally agree with what you're saying. And Totally agree about the Gucci Bags lol hahah

The boy was the reason I went for Chanel in the first place, many years ago. Honestly Chanel was never on my radar. My journey landed on the classic only years into me having bought every other style. Right now my favorite styles are the jumbo and the new medium boy. The latter is nearly impossible to find, but I think it's casual, edgy, functional and the easiest Chanel to travel with. I live in a mountain town half the year, and it's kind of the only one that sort of blends in with the style here.

I moved away from the boy for awhile, b/c the old medium was just too small for me. One day, I realized I had never even tried the new medium! Once I did, I was like, where have you been all my life LOL.

I have 19 bags, like 5 of them, and I do LIKE them, I don't LOVE them. I appreciate the colors and the function, but they are always rolling around, falling over. Chanel has phased out that mass production of the boys, and they only trickle into boutiques. The new mediums are sold instantly when they do. So, still some interest out there. Also, I think they will make a grand re-entry at some point, maybe redesigned a little bit....

I never tried on the new medium boy. Kinda interested now lol .

I recently bought a pre-loved old medium boy bag in black lambskin with old silver hardware. I‘ve got an amazing deal on it and the bag works great for me. It’s a great size for the essentials. Don’t know if it’s still in style but I love it and I don’t care what other people think. It feels like a more casual bag type for me. Amazing for everyday use and to be honest I think the boy bag is a classic bag. You can’t go wrong with a boy

This is my very first Chanel bag purchase. I’ve always dreamed of having one but due to my earlier years saving for a home, I had to ignore all temptations and stay tamed!
However, since now first home purchase has been made... it’s time ladies >
So I know I can buy new but I came across a pre-owned that was in really good condition and such a good price! It’s just too hard to pass up but it also seems too good to be true. Can anyone authenticate this Black Chanel Boy with silver hardware for me?? Xo Thank you!

Major congrats on becoming a homeowner. Shopping for a new bag is so much fun, especially if it’s a dream Chanel. I am not an authentication, but I would be very careful with the above bag. I think it is not authentic, but you should post in the authentication thread or get it authenticated by a professional service. If the deal is too good to be true it probably is.
