has anyone ever tried Vectra spay? It says safe for suede, leather, silk, taffeta, cashmere, satin, velvet and other fine fabrics.

Gosh it sounds uber-safe to me.

I used it on my Mulbery Bayswater, and on my LV vachetta and it did not change the color after it dried. I have just tested the hang tag of my Cobalt Tote and we'll see how it goes.

Iy claims to protect against grease, wine, water and other tough stains...

My apologies if it has been discussed, I only made it through about 12 pages of this thread.

Thanks for previewing Vectra for us Chssmont. Anything that can be used on Vachetta can be used on LP.

Leez, if you have lost color, you can't get it back by cleaning.

I'm so glad I took the time to read this thread! I just purchased a Dylan shoulder bag in Pewter - a color that was specifically made for Nordstrom. This is considered a metallic leather right? I'm not sure if I should spray/protect it before using...Stormy could you offer your expertise?

TIA :flowers:

Hi Belle! I hope you post your Pewter in the Photo reference thread.
Yes it is a Metallic and I do not recommend spraying metallic leathers because the finish itself is protective. Sprays cannot penetrate the finish and can dull the shine. Just enjoy that beauty !

might be a dumb Q ... but do you treat your wallets? my last leather wallet was patent but i just got a yummy orange dylan wallet from the bloomies sale .... should i treat it? what about the inside area?

isn't she pretty? ;) tia!

Same rules for wallets as bags. All light and bright colors get protected with a good Rain & Stain guard.(inside, too, if it will get heavy use)
If you plan to carry your Zucca wallet as a clutch, add a final coat of UV protector from LeatherMagic to preserve the color.

Pictures in the reference thread, please. Title post with style and color names.

thanks stormy!

this is probably a lame Q too ... but should i tape off the hardware on this? it's so big!

also .. sorry ... did you mean i shouldn't have posted the pic in this thread or did you want me to post it over in the reference thread? lol

You're welcome Miss Pax
You don't have to tape off solid brass hardware. You can wipe off the metal after spraying. It's a common question so don't worry.
Pictures here are OK. It helps to see what we're talking about.

YES show your LPs in the reference thread.http://forum.purseblog.com/linea-pelle/linea-pelle-reference-pictures-only-293247.html We have a photo comments thread, too ! http://forum.purseblog.com/linea-pelle/linea-pelle-comments-for-photos-only-thread-335472.html

So my handles on my Dlyan Zip Tote (scotch) are "carmelized" now...But it is not really in a 'good' way. They look like..gross. The color is nice, but it's like...dirty white weirdness...like dried grease (ewww!) on the underside...where it would touch my skin. Is there a way to clean that while not ruining the patina?

I would love to darken the whole bag to match but I guess that's a little crazy. lol!

Not so crazy, Ame. You simply use a regular conditioner to darken LP (one that says NOT for use on suede).

To lighten your handles, (remove hand and lotion oils), use corn starch or real clay.

Interesting. So I just rub the corn starch on the handle? Cool!

I will test out the darkening all over....I guess though...I should wait. I have what appears to be a blueish stain from I guess rubbing on dark jeans...I have no idea what to do about that so I guess I better re-read this thread before I darken anything! thanks!!!

ETA...hmph. The erasers did not help, maybe I need the Mr. Clean one. My LP was pretreated (like 5 coats worth lol) and it's still stained blue. I have no idea how to get it out...besides maybe chuck it in the washer???

Wilson's TLC spray is real favorite among LP fans, but I've recently had a questionable experience with it. I read through all 17 pages of this thread before I did any kind of treatment on my new Dylan Medium Tote in Iron (yes, the summer 2010 style with gunmetal hardware!) and 3 days after treating it, the leather has remained a shade or two darker, and has a few "streaks" in the folds of the leather.

I am not particularly bothered by either of these things because...
1) It may actually lighten up with wearing, and
2) It is still a gorgeous bag I am proud to carry!

The reason I'm posting here is to ask whether anyone is aware about possible changes in the Wilson's TLC formula? Hadn't it gone off the market for a period? (I recall people trying to "stock up" when it was unavailable for some time.) And if so, is it possible that the formula has changed since it's readily available on the Wilson's site now?

Just curious whether anyone has a guess, or better yet, inside information.
