I will add BEFORE you reserve anything, get a Personal Shopper to go over the item for you, unless you are 100% comfortable with the pictures posted and the description. I have noticed at times there are discripencies in the listing and or photos and they do have other errors. I have found size errors and even color errors. Example, I'll see a black bag but the description will say it's red. So which one is correct? The pictures or the description? It's always best to have a personal shopper just pull the item for you that way you will know if you want to reserve as the 10% can be pricey depending on the cost of your item if you decide to cancel or even pay it off but still return it. Because it was a reserve item, if you pay it off and return, you will get charged that 10% fee. Reserve is great, you just need to make sure everything checks out for you before you reserve that's all. :)
I haven’t used the personal shopper feature yet but I think I will….I do think they are ok with pictures but probably having a person check it over is better. So far all my items I have bought have been spot on with the description.. thank you so much foe the feedback!

Do they charge you the fee just to layaway or only if you cancel or return? Sorry for all the questions…..

There is no extra fee. The 10% fee is only a cancellation fee if you do not complete the layaway or if you return the item at the end of your layaway period. I think that a cancellation fee is standard for most companies.
The resellers I use don’t have the layaway option which stinks but it makes sense to charge the fee to recoup some money for canceling or returning.. ….Thank you so much for all the help and information, it’s truly appreciated!

You are welcome! I have only used it once with Fashionphile out of many purchases with them (the item was ~$60k) and the process was seamless.

I have many transactions with Fashionphile and I’ve never had anything “shady” happen with them. I find them to be a very trustworthy company.
Yes I have done my share of transactions with FP as well. I find them trustworthy which is why I continue to work with them. Over the years they have become very strict about reserve fee cancelations. I think before if it was your first cancelation they would waive the fee. I dont think they do that so much now. I get it though as they are not required to waive fees, especially after one is told what the consequences are if a reserve is canceled or a return of a reserve is done. The only negative experience I had was with two bags that were not as described. One was the wrong color, a Hermes Evelyne Etain vs Etoupe. The listing was wrong and since I reserved it, I if I cancelled the reserve or returned my reserve, I would still be charged the 10% even though their listing (and their description) was wrong. They wouldnt even do a little price adjustment to compensate for their error. Since I didnt want to loose over $200 I decided to keep the bag. The other was a Fendi Peekaboo that went from mid excellent condition to the end of excellent after I pointed out the condition discrepancy. The condition was adjusted but the price was not lowered to reflect the new lowered condition. That just didn't seem fair as it was originally priced for mid excellent. Most companies will lower the price (Rebag, The Real Real), but FP did not. Lol

I appreciate your assessment and agree with your conclusion. I have had really good experiences with FP. I had one bag that I felt was not as good as described, but the others were so far better than expected that I didn’t knock them down too much for the one that was less than expected.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to report that I brought 9 items to FP today for quotes (7 bags and 2 bag straps) and out of the 7 bags I decided to keep 3. My new Chanel 19 in large got a low quote (imo) for the prestine condition it is in. I bought it new in 2019 and used it maybe 5 or 6 times. I decided to start using it as to just sit is a waste (imo). I was told by one of the ladies on the showroom floor it is low due to it being a large. Perhaps that is true, but I love it enough to keep it vs selling at such a low price. The other 2 I decided to keep were decent quotes. It was just that I decided not to part from them yet :)

The bags I sold today got me this goregous Chanel shiny leather top handle and a LV Speedy Trunk, which is being shipped to me as it's at the NY location. I was able to take the Chanel home today though:) I also had a little over $1k balance from my sale so that gets deposited into my bank account. It was actually a nice day today at FP :)
