I don’t think you can send directly to a pick up location, but what I’ve done is had it held at a location after they shipped it. Because of the security FP places on packages, you’ll just need to chat them to request the package be held. They’ll make the request with UPS on your behalf. Then You can just pick it up once it makes it to the location.
Great ! Thank you that info !

Can packages be delivered to UPS pick up locations or just to your home address?
Either, but you have to call FP and tell them immediately (before the shipment is picked up). They'll hold it at a service center/depot, not a UPS store. They used to offer this for FedEx (pick up at any location) but not anymore. You can ask them to set the UPS depot as your default ship-to.

Thank you for the info !! Just a depot and not pick up is good to know and I would have to call before it ships! Thanks !

I’d actually rather take a chance with the real real, because even though they mess up a lot, the majority of items I’ve received from them are what I expected. In the one instance it wasn’t, they refunded me.
You are right. I’ve had the same experience. When it wasn’t described right I sent pictures and was able to get my money back. Now I will say that was before this ridiculous insurance. Also, if the item is in the store close to me I will go. If the store is not close I’ve called and they have sent me pictures. I’ve gotten some great deals on some great bags. I’m just very careful. I wouldn’t discount them.

Has anyone been paying CLOSE attention to Fashionphile lately?

1) their standards of excellent vary greatly by brand and I presume that is to allow them to price something higher. Example, I see “excellent” Celine bags with condition as expected, then I see “excellent” classic flaps that would barely pass for “very good” anywhere else. Stains, scuffed corners etc. That was not the case previously.

2) they used to mark things over retail if the item was desirable, rare etc. I was looking at a YSL clutch on the site for $795 and googled it and found it on the YSL site, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s etc for $595…current season and in stock.

I used to be a fan and I do appreciate their vast selection but these pricing practices are starting to feel predatory.

Pricing a current season in stock Ysl clutch for 34% over retail? Why???

Thank you for the information! I've never purchased anything preloved yet, but I've been regularly checking out fashionphile and real real. I definitely noticed your #2 point on pricing. I assume that they price highly desirable pieces above retail because there are a lot of people with credits that they want to use (either from their own sales or refunds) and they'd potentially be willing to pay more for a desirable item. I really dislike this practice, I agree that it's predatory. First they lock you in by convincing you to take their credit instead of cash (+10% vs. cash per my understanding), then they "exploit" because you no longer can leave. Eventually, it seems like whatever extra you get by agreeing to store credit gets annulled by their higher prices.

I've noticed they changed their rating labels as well. Now it is New, Excellent, Shows Wear, and Worn....I think. Something like that. I've only had one issue with them so far. I ordered a Gucci tote listed as Excellent and when I got it the interior looked like a murder scene. They had clearly mislabeled it and gave me a prompt refund upon return.

The mark-up makes sense because as a seller to Fashionphile, they have paid me over retail on a few items. These were items in new condition and in colors they didn't have on the website.

Something about “shows wear” kind of puts me off though. Something that’s not in excellent condition doesn’t mean it shows wear. Maybe it’s just a bit slouchy from storage or a flap is curled a bit. I was more disposed toward the “very good” instead.

They should just post pictures of all possible wear so people can decide for themselves if they can tolerate. People have different tolerances too.
I agree. I purchased something from FP. the description said "shows wear." What it failed to mention was a tear. To me, "shows wear" means creases, loss of structure and some hardware scratches. not an actual tear. I am now at a crossroad as to whether to keep it or not. It was a great price, not too crazy about the color (it veers from my usual) and the drop length is shorter than I had expected. It was once on my wishlist, (in black tho)

With anything FP now, I read the condition description thoroughly, then go back to pics to confirm the severity of what is in their description. A “split seam” could be minor wear on the wax edges to a tear in the leather. Bummer you need to do this level of investigation but it prevents surprises

I agree. Sadly, sometimes I feel that FP leaves out things in hopes the buyer would look the other way because their "want" will blind them. Hence the predicament I am in right now. lol I went through the pics provided. Nowhere did the description nor the pics show a split seam. In my case, it was more of a tear made from what appears to be the previous owner pulling on the flap causing the stitch to come out and then continuing to pull on it resulting in the tear vs using the snap. I'm sorry for my rant. I needed to talk it out with like minded people.
