A bit OT, but I found this article interesting on returns ( of course Fashionphile merchandise is a different class than fast fashion)

Thanks for sharing!

Wow. I know times are challenging; however, the 15 day window was a concern to me when I heard about it because of the clock ticking at shipment, not receipt. I'm ok with the 15 days, just not when it starts. Now the $15 to return fee? I'm curious to see how this all works out for them.
I’m curious too. I just got off the phone with them. I expressed my concerns with the return window calculated from ship date. I live in the mountains where delivery is not reliable. Just today I saw my delivery date changed from today to Monday. I will have already burned 6 days of the window. The company line is the policy changed to meet industry standards. I shopped with them because of their higher standards. We will see how it works for them.

I cannot imagine how many "free" returns and shipping labels this company has given out over the years. A look into any forum here will indicate there are A LOT of people who buy and then take pics, try on and return. Buyers remorse is getting to be a huge factor in these sort of decisions. As with most things..it gets abused to a point *shrug*
Yes, but they had already addressed this with a previous change to their return policy that stated you would be charged a 10% restocking fee if your returns for the year surpassed a certain amount.

Thank you! I would add that I actually do understand charging for return shipping. In this day and age, shipping can probably make or break a business model. I too, am one to decide immediately if something will work for me or not. I can turn it around in a day, weather and circumstances permitting. Guess I won't be ordering anything during winter months where snow is measured in feet and getting our of the driveway is not guaranteed!! ;)

QVC charges for returning, so even though I don’t like it I get it. For me it’s really about the 15 day ret and when the clock starts.

I hate paying for returns. I don't abuse returns. I rarely return anything but I am less likely to buy if I have to pay to return, especially when buying used items. Their definition of very good condition may not be the same as mine. I don't have the luxury of being able to return to a Fashionphile or Neiman's as they aren't in my area.

I hate it too, but sometimes it’s the only option. This is really the classic one student ruins it for the whole class scenario. We don’t abuse returns but we aren’t the problem.

I couldn’t find a pair of shoes at Hermes, for love or money, even to try for size. And, I’ve waited for months. I was grateful for the opportunity to purchase essentially new at Fashionphile. I opened the box, took one out, tried it, put it back and returned. It took five minutes, and was easier than going to Hermes. Now, at least, I know how much to size up in that model of shoe (I have weird feet and wear a variety of H sizes lol). I will say that, in NY, in a full service building, all you have to do, to return an item, is print a label and leave it for pick up. So. I dont mind paying for the convenience and ability to return. JMO though.

Fashionphile is having a Summer kickoff sale, extra 10% off code SUN10 on select items now through 6/30:

Typical to their usual practices, I noticed that two discounted items that I had in my cart went back to full price as soon as the sale coupon was released.

I think the sold items reappear is probably due to return. I don't like it that if they're sold when discounted, the discount go away after they are back in stock. I do notice that if an item was returned more than two times, it gets a new marked down price most of the time.

I was eyeing a Chanel since March and after sold/back in stock twice, they marked it down by 13%. When I saw that it was included in the summer kickoff sale, I was surprised and couldn't check out faster than enough :happydance: Sadly, most of my watch items didn't make it to the 10% off list

Doesn't it worry you that it was returned twice?
