question: I have purchased several bags from the RealReal and I’ve always been pleased with their company policies, pricing, and their willingness to work with the customer. Only a handful of times have I had an issue and they have always resolved it to my satisfaction. There was a particular bag that I had been looking for for awhile, and I found one in excellent condition on
Fashionphile. So I decided to order this as a first time purchase from Fashionphile. I purchased it in the afternoon. 10 hours later on the same calendar day, I get an email that says you can get a $300 discount off your next purchase if you spend $1500. The bag I purchased cost $1530 before tax. So I emailed Fashionphile with screenshots of both dated emails: my order and the promotional email that I received, asking if I could receive the $300 promotion since I had purchased the bag only a few hours prior, had never purchased from the company before, and did not even know that they offered incentives. Their response left a negative feeling to me over the issue and the way that it was handled. They told me that it would not be “fair to all;” kind of like I was asking them to do some thing unethical. And that I could return the bag and reorder it?? And this from a company that promotes itself as a sustainable alternative?? Has anyone else encountered this? Should I just dismiss this from my mind and continue to buy from this company? Welcome your thoughts.
