I don’t actually begrudge on line retailers or resellers a restocking fee or shortened return policy. There is increasing risk that a returned item will not be pristine and this be unsaleable. JMO
They are all secondhand items even if some of them marked NWT and they are all have been tagged. if We are buying from second hand places then 99% chances dozens of hands already touched it played it at least haha, my guess is if a business charges restock fee they either desperate for money, or / and much higher return rate than before or/and they are too big to care customers satisfaction

I agree. I think if you have the item for 3 days or so, you can make a fair decision. I appreciate longer return times for average stuff, but with high-priced retail, I know pretty quickly whether or not it’s for me.

Those resellers not just making money from the sales, they also making money on cash flow so people buys and returns still bringing benefits to resellers. If resellers see those strict return policies have no protest or negative feed backs then I won’t be surprised to see someday it will become final sale.

On the other hand, it doesn’t really bother me much, I don’t buy much these days anyway

Today is the last day for my return period and it is when the shipping label was created. (My package wasn’t picked up by the carrier until the next day). The return button was active this afternoon and just checked a little while ago and it is gone.
After a change of heart but missing the 30 day return (now 15) this morning I was going to send a bag back as part of their “buy back” program. Everything appeared normal until I tried to print the label. Suddenly there was no label to be found. Looks like less than 3 months after purchasing the bag it is “no longer eligible” even though it stated otherwise at the beginning of the process. I’m going to call later to ask why. Maybe it’s a glitch, but more likely part of what has become their new normal.

ETA - Contacted FP and I’m happy to report they did email a shipping label and packing list to me. Said it was a glitch. I must admit I wasn’t optimistic when I called, but their response was prompt and apologetic.

glad you were able to sell back to them, may I ask what kind of bag was it?

They changed their return policy yet again. They are now charging $14.99 for return shipping, fyi. I just had this rude surprise today.
I just found this out yesterday as well. I had no idea their policies had changed. With 15 day return window including shipping times, and the $14.99 return shipping, I won't be purchasing unless I am very certain I will be keeping the item. A sign of the times I would guess.

Wow. I know times are challenging; however, the 15 day window was a concern to me when I heard about it because of the clock ticking at shipment, not receipt. I'm ok with the 15 days, just not when it starts. Now the $15 to return fee? I'm curious to see how this all works out for them.

It's their prerogative but when there are plenty of other retailers out there that do not do this, it's also a customer's prerogative to go elsewhere. That's the risk they take. And the lack of any communication from them to customers about the changes is a lot of what makes it seem shady. They just quietly change the return policy section of their website - no email to subscribers, no banner advertising the change on the front of the website. I think that's a large part of why people are reacting poorly to it.

Agree. An email would have been nice. That is definitely the part that is irritating to me. No transparency. Next they will charge you for sending item to sell to them and deduct it from your proceeds.

I cannot imagine how many "free" returns and shipping labels this company has given out over the years. A look into any forum here will indicate there are A LOT of people who buy and then take pics, try on and return. Buyers remorse is getting to be a huge factor in these sort of decisions. As with most things..it gets abused to a point *shrug*

A bit OT, but I found this article interesting on returns ( of course Fashionphile merchandise is a different class than fast fashion)

True. I don’t do this so this didn’t occur to me.

Couldn't read the article from The Atlantic because you have to have an account..but I totally get it. I own a small retail store..and we don't have an online store for those exact reasons. Retail returns can be up to 40%. Customers want free shipping and free returns and to pay with rewards CC's that cost quite a bit to process. We do ship to people, but you're more likely to discuss your sizing and be confident in your purchase when it's only a store credit policy.

Again (IMO) some people are serial buyers and returners. It's a rush for them. I don't think businesses should have to shoulder the costs of people who abuse the system to get their "fix" Some folks on forums buy the same bag 4 or 5 times and return because they see some microscopic defect. They could go into a boutique, but they don't. There is a joy in anticipation of waiting for these items to arrive..and I'm sure Fashionphile has seen exactly this issue.
