Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

I seriously doubt the FOS was created for the purpose of enabling people to profit by purchasing multiples for the express purpose of reselling on another site. If it was, they wouldn't be attempting to squash this very act by restricting access and imposing limits.

No, it was created to clear out their overstock, but they don't really have a way to stop resellers buying anything as long as they stay within their limits. It's first come first served.

I agree with that bolded statement, because such is life. However, we are allowed to be annoyed when we miss out on something we really wanted. No need to be defensive.

This is a forum where everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. If you don't want others to respond honestly to an opinion of yours, you'd best not post in the first place.

As a long-standing member of this forum, I agree with Hyacinth too.

As a newbie, I agree with Hyacinth as well, it's the abrasiveness that could have been left out. After all, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. I can appreciate a honest response leaving out the snark would have gone a long way.

Snark is where you perceive it. For instance, I'm sure you consider your own posts to be honest opinion or statement of fact, snark-free. Others might not think so. The attitude you read into text on a page or monitor is yours, not necessarily the attitude of the author.

Well, the big lesson to learn is that you can't control others' behaviors. :flowers: I understand you, i'm just saying to remember to pick your battles. ;) :flowers: In all honesty, this is one of the reasons I don't buy from re-sellers of new-with-tag. (Part of the reason, not all, because I've only bought from FOS once so have no personal issues there, and I've had decent luck at the outlets. Heck, I fell into a gathered Lindsey barely days ago at outlet (buh?!?!?! ... let me pick myself up from the floor first). I think the rest of the reason boils down to some sort of personal perception, but that's another topic.)

So yeah, if you don't like re-sellers, the only real vote you have is to not purchase from them. On the few occasions where I've wanted an already retired item, I've purposefully purchased excellent/good used condition. I once had a history teacher who pretty much nailed it --- the only vote you really have is with your wallet. Use it. :flowers: :smile1:

Yep. For your own integrity, just don't buy from them. I certainly don't if I can at all avoid it. (But like I said, a big part of it is probably my personal perception of "resellers". Except for those selling gently used. That I can get behind.)

I would buy NWT if the price was reasonable- I can understand it being marked up for fees, etc.
I often choose to sell NWT stuff rather than return it, and I am not a reseller. Sometimes I just buy a lot of different things and don't like to spend my time going back to the store to return something I don't want anymore, even though I can.

With the exception of a few ebay "stores" that always have "stock on hand," I don't know how to tell someone is a reseller. The flood of Dillard's stuff right now, or after a major Dillard's sale is a good indicator, but since we don't have Dillard's here in the north it's nice to be able to buy some of those things.

It's all about perspective :smile1:

Well, if someone has only one, two, three NWT items listed, then I would not guess them as a reseller and would purchase happily. Perhaps it's just after a holiday. Or perhaps it was a gift and they have no receipt. Or perhaps they simply changed their mind about a purchase, and have neither time nor opportunity to do a return. (And yes, of course someone in that position would still want help with their fees. I get that completely. :smile1: ) But when there are significant numbers of items listed? Over an extended time, and all NWT? Umm, yeah. When I have had to resort to ebay, I always click on "other items for sale". It's really not that hard to tell w/ most of them.

But again, it's just a personal "perception" thing. :smile1:

And I will not EVER buy anything used. So to each their own. I know what nwt condition is. If I don't have to drive 150 miles round trip and spend a day to make the trip I don't judge, I am thankful. I just purchased a wallet this week. I do not even have a Coach store in my county and the outlets are two away. We have one department store that sells Brahmin and Coach.

Thank you! I was waiting for someone to say this. You are not alone either, there are many ladies that feel the way you do.

Well, when I have purchased pre-owned I've been fortunate (and careful of course, knock on wood). It's either been a few of my vintage Coach leathers (the rehab clubhouse and all that, washing, dunking the non-lined old leather, conditioning, that whole schema), or one Zoe that was long out of production by the time I discovered it. Then there was my LV TulumGM which was also out of production by the time I discovered it, plus daughter's cherry blossoms (again, long out of production ... I'm starting to feel out of date ).

Of course if you don't have outlets/stores/etc near you, yes, I absolutely do agree that would definitely add another dimension to things. I do realize I'm lucky to have two within local driving distance (three if you include boutique), and that allows me to avoid the little cringe feeling I would get if buying from obvious resellers (or the cringe I do get when they appear in searches). Not a cringe over the bag/item itself. Just a little ... I don't know ... like I said, just call it a personal perception. The same type of decisions we all have to make every day, over where we do or do not feel comfortable putting our money. And the problem is, I would likely think of that every time I used the bag. :-( I don't know how else to phrase it. :flowers: So yeah, like you said, to each their own. :flowers:
