Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

I haven't read through all pages on here but I have bought quite a few off of eBay. I fell in love with alot of stuff from 2008-2011 and ebay or bonanza is the only way to get them. I will say that when a coach factory sale comes up online and I go to try and buy something and find that its a popular item and being held in other members' carts, and i cant buy it for myself, it's very very irritating to find a load of them marked up $50 or more for profit on eBay. I just get so mad that I wanted it for myself and I can't buy it. Anyone else feel like this? I apologize if this was already mentioned in this thread and I didn't see it.

A few basic facts:

1- This has been discussed over and over again - Sellers are entitiled to make a profit. Unless you think that they're just supposed to absorb all the costs of reselling the item such as state sales tax (over 10 percent in some states) and the sky-high fees from both Paypal and Ebay on every item sold that alone can amount to 20-25 percent of the purchase price. Try buying and then reselling for only a 10 dollar markup and see how long you stay in business.

2- First come, first served. If you want a better shot at getting what you want, log into the sales earlier.

3- And this thread is about suspected resellers being banned from Coach stores. Not about seller markups although there have been other threads about that and the posters have been told the same thing I said in paragraph #1. Potential buyers have a very simple option - don't buy if you don't like the price. Or if you're within range of an outlet store, shop there instead.

Goodness doglover, do you feel like you just got a verbal smack down? I do and I didn't even post. Apparently you should find a better suited thread to post your vent in.

Agree with Hyacinth 100%.

@ Doglover Doesn't matter how high the prices on eBay, as long as there're people willing to buy, seller will continue to sell them. There're heavy fees sellers have to pay, so really the winner is eBay. I use eBay mainly to research on bags I wanna buy on FOS.

I have no outlets around, and have 1 Macy's with clerks from hell, so 95% of my Coach bags came from FOS. With FOS, I pretty much get to pick whatever I want, almost all the time, because I wake up early to shop. If you catch the sale when it opens, you can get in and out and go back to sleep all within 30 min, unless you wanna hang out at the Coach Factory Online Sale thread to see what everyone is getting. There were times when I slept through the alarm... at that point I have to work at least 3-10 times harder to get those hot deals, and might not succeed after all the efforts... not fun at all! Anywho, I hope you'll find a way to make FOS work for you.

This is a forum where everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. If you don't want others to respond honestly to an opinion of yours, you'd best not post in the first place.

As a long-standing member of this forum, I agree with Hyacinth too.

It seems like (to me) you always get hot deals and know how to shop at least at FOS (admire). I've learned alot from you and others on the FOS thread :p

But we're going to have an outlet soon, right Shan2 :graucho:

Ah you're too kind! It just looks like I know what I'm doing. Just 4 months ago I was still carrying cheap student backpacks from Walmart, have been since childhood. Everything I know I learn from awesome tPFers. Stalking every FOS and the Coach Factory thread certainly helps... I went from buying FOS stuff no one else is digging, to being able to spot the hidden treasures (awesome deletes on clearance!). It's been a fun but costly journey. :D

I feel EXACTLY the same way! It's infuriating to see sold out signs, or worse- no sold out thing but you get the "sorry some bag hog has 25 of these sitting in her cart so you need to just keep trying" message.

I understand some on this board are these exact ebay resellers, but don't come down on us regular girls who just want ONE stinkin' item at a great price too. And no, we don't want to pay jacked up ebay prices, we just want to order from the FOS like it was intended. Geez!

Quite frankly I don't know why anyone sells on feebay anymore. There's way too much hassle & it's barely profitable anymore.

So does everyone else, including resellers.

I seriously doubt the FOS was created for the purpose of enabling people to profit by purchasing multiples for the express purpose of reselling on another site. If it was, they wouldn't be attempting to squash this very act by restricting access and imposing limits.
