Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

Well, they banned me about 4 years ago and do not go in any of their retail and/or outlet stores. I used to spend a lot but never cared as there were other retailers that were all too happy to take my money. So now I find this link http://www.accessoriesmagazine.com/75471/coach-q4-profit-falls-12-to-sell-reed-krakoff-brand# and need I say more! I was wondering why I was receiving emails on sales they were having when they banned me and I guess with all the people they banned it came back to bite them. FYI I did go in one of their stores about a year ago just to see if I could purchase something and had no problem. I actually returned it as I just did it as a test. They had a nerve to hand me a letter in their store humiliating me in front of customers 4 years ago. Why would I ever go back and give them 1 cent. What goes around comes around! I guess they were on their high horse back then.

What was the reasoning for the ban? Crazy they would make it obvious in a store full of shoppers!

They usually do it that way. Not sure if it is intentional for "let's make a public example of you" purposes or more for security should the shopper get physically hostile.

I would think mailing it to the banned person's house would be the best way to handle it, but then Coach isn't known for doing things "the best way."
After hearing from many customers who've been banned, my opinion is that Coach purposely does it in the manner they do it in order to humiliate and embarrass the customer in a way that the customer wouldn't dare to take the chance of coming back again.

I believe that too, with all the information they have about the customer there are more efficient ways to convey the message without waiting for them to shop again.

From what I read, Coach sends the letter. But for some reasons, some banned people don't receive it and show up to shop. Then SAs have to tell them you can't no longer shop here. Then they ask why. Then SAs hand out the letter.

But even that I still think the store SA or manager can always bring those banned customers to the back and have a private convo i/o talking to their faces right at the register. The situation will also affect other shoppers, make them uncomfortable and might bring bad rumors to the brand IMO.

I'm worried about being banned. I've bought so much from FOS that I need to return some things.

I returned 2 bags at an outlet last week and I'm still getting invites to FOS this week. I would not worry. I doubt that I buy much from FOS anymore though; unless I have seen it IRL. I'm just too picky about leather and some of Coach's leather just does not meet my expectations. I will, however, be taking the time to make more trips to outlet though. It is just so darn FUN.

From what people have written here on TPF they do sometimes send letters to the customers home. But some people show up at the outlet before they receive the letter, or the letter gets delayed or something.

OTOH since it's probably the managers who report the customers in the first place, they may not mind embarrassing the customer in the store.
