i recently took both my 35cm black birkin and 32cm BJ kelly to vegas for the wknd and i ended up using the kelly the entire time!!! it just didn't feel as bulky or heavy to use as the birkin did. whenever i use my birkin, my DH ends up having to carry it for me bc it gets too heavy. but when i'm home running errands on a daily basis, i do use my birkin a lot bc it holds A LOT!!!

I'm actually getting my shoulder strap shortened because I don't like the length of the long one, but might use it more even on a shopping trip with a more comfortable level shoulder strap (okay maybe I'm just weird lol!)

I used a swift souple/retourne Kelly today for the first time and loved it. The leather (um, skin) is so soft and it was so much easier to get into than my last test drive of a Kelly which was sellier/rigide croc.

I just read this.

PF, good for you! I think too many people are too precious about their H bags. Mine, Kelly or Birkin, go everywhere with me. To the supermarket, to the wholesale florist, to the warehouse to look at floor tile samples, to the paint shop to get paint charts etc.

And I promise you, you'll absolutely LOVE a retourne 28. I love mine so much I haven't even considered a 32. Though I haven't dismissed it completely from my list of future bags.

I totally agree with this -- to me a retourne 28 is perfect from every standpoint. It's light, elegant, roomy, and totally versatile from day to night.

Hey Wong,
I was at the local foodcourt, I whip out my shoulder strap, hook it up and don it messenger style. :tup: I do have the 28 retourne on my wishlist but am worried it might be too small.

Love 'em so much I'm getting another! I use my Vert Olive retourne a lot but my eye is on another little something in a nice pliable skin but in Sellier. Hoping that the Sellier construction in this leather will be as easy-going as my Clemence Olive......

28 Sellier is one of my dream bag, but right now, I don't think sellier will love me as much :push:

I know what you mean, PF but if you were to get one in a pliable skin then you'd be able to access the bag easier. For example....Chevre is pretty easy to get into and holds more than Box calf in the same Sellier construction.

I can't remember off the top of my head but does anyone know if Togo and Fjord are made in Sellier construction for Kelly's?
