After reading about all the fakes I would never trust them and anyone would be a fool to trust them again - I am sure they dont WANT to sell fakes - but obviously - THEY ARE -

all the fakes, I think I have read 3. It seems they have responded correctly in each case. I don"t see the reason for the strong reaction. I believe I've read of fakes showing up as B & M store returns occasionally.

I reported the fake chloe to them and they responded to me that they have an authentication process blah blah. Anyway, that was awhile ago and they are only removing it now that I posted to this forum. I wonder what they do when they find out a fake got past their "authentication process". That chloe was a pretty bad fake if i've ever seen one.

Hello, this is Erin, the Customer Service Manager from BBOS Private Sale|Avelle!

As the world's largest, most trusted source for renting and selling designer handbags and accessories, nothing is more important to us than authenticity. Nothing. Our trained experts authenticate thousands of items every week, and if we have any concern -- no matter how slight -- that an item is a replica we pull it from our shelves.

We recently offered a new service to our customers. We now directly purchase top- condition authentic designer handbags from our members' personal inventory. We sell these handbags on our BBOSPrivate Sale site only. We look at thousands of handbags weekly and authenticity is our top criteria. We will reject any item if we are not extremely confident in its authenticity. That doesn't mean a handbag we reject is a replica, we simply can't 100% guarantee it is authentic.

If a customer thinks they found a replica item, we want to be notified immediately via email or phone call. It is then inspected and verified internally and with our Designer partners if necessary. Once the item is deemed authentic, we notify the customer and it is up to her if she wants us to send it back or if she wants to simply return it and purchase something else.

We would never charge a customer for verifying authenticity. If the customer thinks it's not real we take it seriously and authenticate it.

Rest assured, we take this matter VERY SERIOUSLY, and guarantee the authenticity of every item or 100% of your money will be returned to you (including shipping). Because no matter how many styles come and go, trust never goes out of fashion.

If anyone has any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly at 866.922.2267 x 1103.

Thank you!

Erin

p.s. Some of the authenticity issues stemmed from simply having wrong images attached to the description. We take responsibility for this as well, but it was an image issue, not an authenticity issue.

Thank you!

Why not, I'll chime in...

With recent efforts at BBoS to Really authenticate items, they now like to ask for additional pictures, like for creeds. I though it was quite interesting when I got an image request for a creed for a wristlet and a pouch. Now I know Coach is inconsistent, and some of the pouches, swingpacks, and even wristlets have creeds while others do not. But, for the particular items in question, only fakes would have creeds (those particular items were not produced with creeds). I got the impression that BBoS is taking better steps, like asking for more pictures, but still doesn't quite have the authenticating man-power. (Seriously, did the people who emailed me expect to get a creed picture for a wristlet?) I hope BBoS invests in hiring some real knowledgeable authenticating staff. Keep in mind, most fake bags have creeds, you'll need much more than a picture of that to determine authenticity.

I would like to add that if anyone at BBOS is in doubt about a New/EUC item, they could easily use tpf's Authentication threads as back-up. The collective authentication from member opinions should put aside any authenticity doubts BBOS would have, and the customer gets to sell their bag instead of being irked because an authentic item was returned.

BBOS is a completely clueless company. They know less than zero about handbags of any sort. If they want things authenticated they need to hire someone who knows how to properly research the subject. The offers they give people are just for show. If they get the bag and it's just as described but they don't want it they will deny it. Then they won't give you a reason they will just say it didn't pass all of their steps. I think a lot of that has to once again do with "authentication" issues. It is almost like a scam. If you send them exactly what you described and showed them pictures of they should have to pay you for that not send it back on some ******** excuse.

Look how long the handles are, and kate spade never manufactured a chocolate version of their bags. http://www.bagborroworsteal.com/han...e/24135/3165/1269633&posRow=5&posCol=2&page=2

I notified kate spade through their link where you can report fakes and knock offs. I purchased a Burberry purse a few months ago through bbosprivatesale.com that is definitely a fake, but they said if I returned it, I would only get store credit. Didn't feel like it was worth the hassle to quibble, but I reported it to Burberry.

All designers have some way you can report fakes and knock-offs for sale. If they don't have a specific link or form you can fill out, just call and ask to be transferred to their legal department.
