I have been with BBOS/Avelle for 3 years. I have bought and sold and rented and never had a problem. The company stands behind every sale all you have to do is call if there is any problems. The customer service team is very helpful and can address all of your concerns.

They dont sell fakes. They take authenticity very serious. I had to provide all the information regarding my bags, (Coach) before they agreed to buy it from me.

The prices are great and the quality is outstanding. Also when you rent check your items, they may have some of your rental fees go toward your purchase. It is a great program and company and I recommend them to everyone. It is so much fun to try items and if I can purchase them great.

Do you mind being more specific on exactly what they ask you to provide about the information regarding your bags? Receipts? Original tags? What if you didn't purchase it first hand?

Just curious, thanks for answering!

Hello, this is Erin, the Customer Service Manager from BBOS Private Sale|Avelle!

As the world's largest, most trusted source for renting and selling designer handbags and accessories, nothing is more important to us than authenticity. Nothing. Our trained experts authenticate thousands of items every week, and if we have any concern -- no matter how slight -- that an item is a replica we pull it from our shelves.

We recently offered a new service to our customers. We now directly purchase top- condition authentic designer handbags from our members' personal inventory. We sell these handbags on our BBOSPrivate Sale site only. We look at thousands of handbags weekly and authenticity is our top criteria. We will reject any item if we are not extremely confident in its authenticity. That doesn't mean a handbag we reject is a replica, we simply can't 100% guarantee it is authentic.

If a customer thinks they found a replica item, we want to be notified immediately via email or phone call. It is then inspected and verified internally and with our Designer partners if necessary. Once the item is deemed authentic, we notify the customer and it is up to her if she wants us to send it back or if she wants to simply return it and purchase something else.

We would never charge a customer for verifying authenticity. If the customer thinks it's not real we take it seriously and authenticate it.

Rest assured, we take this matter VERY SERIOUSLY, and guarantee the authenticity of every item or 100% of your money will be returned to you (including shipping). Because no matter how many styles come and go, trust never goes out of fashion.

If anyone has any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly at 866.922.2267 x 1103.

Thank you!

Erin

I send them copies of receipts from where I purchased it, they ask for pictures of the creed inside( I sell Coach) and the cards that come with the purses. If I have the tags I send them too. I usually buy from the stores or the outlet stores. I have an extensive collection and I have purchased several from them.

I hope this helps. If you have a question about your item you can go to the local coach store and ask them to look at the item. You can also Coach 800 number and speak with a representative there. They can also assist you.

^Sorry, maybe I quite don't understand how the brown text I highlighted in your phrase corresponds to the information I asked.

I'm not sure how going to a Coach store about my item will or WOULD help me potentially selling an item to BBOS in regards to authenticity. Coach stores do not authenticate items.

Will BBOS take your items if you don't have say, some of the cards that come with the purses, or the original tags? Will they take items that people have bought 2nd hand (like say, NOT from outlets but from friends, or online) if you don't have the info to prove the price paid? Do they use the price paid on the receipts to determine how much to offer you? (<-- if so, then I'd not go with them, if they know I paid outlet price for something and not MSRP and offer me low because of that then that's crap...)

I cant answer that because all of my items I purchased and had the paperwork to go with it. I was including the info for the store and the 800 number so that way you would know if it was real.

You would have to ask BBOS if they would accept it.

As far as the receipts they gave me really good deals on the bags I sold them. I had a great experience with them.

I haven't sold any bags to them, but I have bought 4, the latest being today. The bags were authentic and in perfect condition. No missing hangtags or straps, nothing at all wrong. Great experiences with the 3 I have in my possession now.
That being said...I probably would never sell a bag to them. I would rather sell on Bonz or Ebay to give a bigger audience a chance to get it. And it would make me feel rather upset to see a used $400 retail bag I sold for however much less get posted on there for only 10-20% off retail price. I would rather take that $400 bag and sell it for a little more of an affordable price on an auction site. Like, sell it for $275, $300 instead of them selling it for $350, $375 on BBOS if it is used. It may not be "cleaned" by BBOS, but most of my bags are pristine anyway...and if they are not, I would make note of this if I sold. If I sell, I don't care too much about a profit, I mainly would just want to get rid of it to make room...I understand not everyone can do this, but I would enjoy helping another Coachie out by getting her a bag without taking her right leg along with her money (example= Sequin Spotlights for $550+).
As for BBOS, yes their prices are a little high, but they do clean and inspect their bags and "rejuvenate" them, so that probably is factored into the price. If they have something rare, that cannot hardly ever be found on an auction site, I buy it if I love it and want it. But if it is a general item that can be found anywhere, I will look somewhere else.
But I wouldn't sell my bag to them. I have heard too many complaints.
Just my two cents. :)

You seem kind of "affiliated" with them, coachgirl.
I am not affiliated with BBOS in any other capacity other than renting, selling or purchasing bags. I speak about it strongly because I have been with them so long and had a good working relationship with them. I have not had a problem with anything that could not be worked out. They have been very professional with me much more than what you get from a lot of companies. I just wanted to let everyone know that dont worry about working with them its a safe transaction. I did very well with selling my bags to them.

Coachgirl65,
I think what the other poster was saying is that since ALL of your posts so far on this forum have to do with BBOS that it's strange that you come on here, as a buyer/seller with/to them that you are posting about how great your experience was. No one was doubting your account, your standing, or that you have or do business with them.

We have many other members on here who have done business with BBOS, but they aren't "mouthpieces" for the company like you have been on here. I think that's why someone was questioning your motives for posting... meaning... are you posting for or on behalf of the company to improve their image? or are you posting because you really are that passionate about how much you love the company? I might love getting Starbucks drinks and receiving their free drink coupons after 15 visits but I don't go around yelling from the tops of trees how great I think the company is.

I understand that and believe you. You sound very enthusiastic about them. It's just they have had issues with authenticity before, which does not bode well for their abilities, given that about 99% of what they sell is counterfeited. The fakes they listed were so obviously fake...that is troubling.

Yes, this. It's odd.

Yes I am passionate about the company because I love Coach purses and I love the whole premise. Thats all. I tell everyone about it. I found out about this website as I am on twitter and wanted to talk to other people about Coach purses. When I saw posts regarding the company I answered them because I have had a lot of experiences with them. Thats it. I was hoping that I was helping someone feel more comfortable with dealing with them because I did and had no problems. I thought I was being nice.
