There have been many, many threads about this subject. It's always best to do a search before starting a thread.

The majority opinion of the ladies on this site has been that it's not worth the exorbitant fees. Save up what you would spend on the fees and in just a few months, you'll have a brand-new bag of your own.

Leah411 you said it all, thank you! I think there have been 1 zillion posts about that website. I'm sorry to say but purseguy sounds like he works there.
nah! I don't work there. TPF has had some problems timing out when searching, or i would have searched for threads before posting.

It seems like it would be a waste of money to join it, judging by the posts here. I mean $80 to "borrow" a Chanel for a few days? IF they charged 1/2 that, it would be better.

It's going to cost way more than $80 to borrow a Chanel. By the time you pay all the various fees..you're looking at a couple hundred bucks a month for any of the "good" bags.

Ridiculous.

Not sure if anyone has talked about this website, but it is just like Netflix, but instead of movies, you can "rent" a purse, or some jewelry, for a weekly or monthly fee. The higher end purses, like Prada, Gucci, Chanel, and Jimmy Choo go for between $80 to $100 a week. To figure out per month, just do the math. There are lower end purses, like Maxx New York, Betsey Johnson, and Andrea Brueckner go for about $13.00 a week. Now a lot of people are going to think, "why would i RENT a purse?" Well, they call it "borrowing", but anyway, if you always wondered about a purse, and wanted to try one out, see how you like it, that's a good reason. Still, the higher end purses are there, and you can say to someone that you carried a $1000 or $1500 purse before, that you actually had all your stuff inside it, taking it in stores, and other places. They offer insurance, but it's only for wear and tear, not theft, so if you wanna go that route, do so, but I don't think many people are going to be careless with a purse they don't even own.

Just go to http://www.bagborroworsteal.com and check out the selection. They have about 80 different brands, some really nice ones!

From the sound of this I was wondering if you worked there too.............

I say save up if you have to to get the bag you want instead of going the BBS route. JMO

It wouldn't be worth it to me. I buy my bags because I love them, not because I'm trying to chase an "it" bag or pretend to have more than what I do. I'd rather save the (very high) fees and get a bag to call my own.

I don't need to try out a bag - I see it, I love it, I want it - do not want to return it to a "club" - They do have an outlet where they sell pre owned bags, that is worth looking into.

If I really love a bag there is no way I would be able to return it at the end of the month... I just save up and buy it. I need to have them in my closet to wear whenever I want!

I must say I would generally never do this but the thought has crossed my mind to try it once and rent a $2000 Judith Leiber crystal clutch sometime. I will spend that much on a Fendi Spy or a Chanel classic flap, but probably would never drop that on a bag I am going to carry to maybe two or three black ties a year...so I guess I might try it once!
