What do you think of Bag, Borrow or Steal?

  • No thanks, I'm saving my money for my OWN bag.

  • Yay, lots of illicit bag flings, with no serious commitment...sign me up!

  • What? I have no idea/ don't care.

I love the idea.... and I would do it, only if I were super duper rich...otherwise I'd rather own my handbags... I don't need variety unless I can afford to pay something for nothing.

Kinda like my thought on leasing cars.... I'd do it if my company gave me a free monthly lease allowance for a car

The costs to be a member for the highest level of bags is obscene. Additionally, I don't like the idea of using a bag that has been used for who-knows-what before, even if it still looks new. I'd rather save the monthly membership fees and buy my own.

 Well said.

By the time you rent out a few high end bags, you paid as much as it would cost to buy a high end bag.

Believe me.....you never ever know what someone might stuff into one of those bags. People can be weird. I just don't think I would go for the idea. I would always be wondering if my sunglasses were surrounded by the aura of someone's baloney sandwich or underwear.........you never know!!!

Hi guys! Just wanted to know if anybody tried Bag, Borrow or Steal and whether it was worth it for them. I love so many bags and I know I can't have them all, but is it worth it to borrow one of their bags or should you just save up for one of your own? And if you try to "steal" after borrowing, is it cheaper than buying the bag directly?

If you just want the bag for a short time it's a great way to do it. But if you want the bag to keep, I would just save up.

Personal experience:
I tried it thinking it would be a great way to try bags out, and 3 months later and $30 shorter, the bag I was waiting for was still not available. I cancelled my subscription and bought a bag outright.
There is often a long wait for bags that are popular or that you might be interested in.

You don't have to pay to become a member. They do offer non-member pricing. It's about $15-25 more than the member's pricing. This way, you don't have to pay while your on a wait list (unless they force you into a paid membership to get on the waiting list??)

I've never tried it, but I've thought about it. I have looked at the bags in the "Outlet" and sometimes they do seem to have pretty good prices. I think if you decide to "steal" a bag, it depends on the particular bag. Whether or not it's a popular style, in high demand, if there's a waiting list, they may not let you steal it.

Yes, that is a way around the monthly waiting fees, but it just seems it is sort of filled with *glitches* that *work to their advantage*. I'm not saying it's not a service that might work for others, that is just my personal experience. If it works for you, then that's great!!!

I have never used it, but I am signed up on the mailing list for FromBagstoRiches.com, a similar handbag rental site. I think their rental program is a little more favorable, plus their handbag sales are better. I think they had Balenciagas for $800 once, and they'll disclose all imperfections. (I have heard bad things about Bag Borrow or Steal's omissions.) Good luck!
