I noticed Bag Borrow or Steal had a bag I was looking for (that is no longer available) in their outlet for purchase. Has anyone bought a bag this way? What kind of condition was it in? Thanks.
I've looked over the bags and considered buying a Lulu Guiness.
The thing I don't like though is that they don't give you a picture of the bag's current state. Goodness knows how many people have used it and what it's true condition is (also worried about what the inside of the bag is)
Did you notice that they never seem to sell the couture bags?
They have a live chat section. I was considering buying a bag from them, bought another one instead, but the person that I talked to on their live chat section was very nice and helpful. And they are willing to go and check the item that you want to purchase and let you know what condition it is in and if there are any flaws, stains, etc.
In the US you have this fantastic website. Although possessing is better than borrowing it may be useful to carry some days a bag you wouldn't have bought.
Have you ever used this service? Were you satisfied?
I know I bought a bag from that websites outlet and was very dissatisfied. It was in atrocious condition when it arrived and based on what they charged for it they should have known better. Plus, they took forever to even process my return after I sent it, then of course another eternity to actually give me the refund.
i haven't tried the website myself, but i personally would much rather own a bag than rent one... even i could only afford one bag, i'd rather be the owner of that particular bag than know i had to send it back sometime to someone else.
I think your better off saving the $100 a month and get a Chanel of your own, then borrowing someone elses. And who knows who had it before you and before them etc..........
Aw, thanks. I'm alright with it. They did actually give me my refund, and I learned to just be careful. These bags really are HEAVILY used, and the leather was all marked up and creased. There wasn't any stuffing in the bag when they sent it to me so the ends of the straps were all curled up and (pardon the super-technical term) "smooshed". It was only a Kooba bag, so it wasn't super tragic and like I said, I was able to return it just fine, but it was a bummer and a hassle.
I've never used this website, but I think it makes much more sense to save the money from borrowing bags to put towards a fab bag you can call your own!
The only reason I would join is because it says you have the option to purchase aka "steal" any bag you borrow for a discount. There are a few LE bags there that are hard to find in stores or on ebay... I have thought of joining for one month just to borrow then "steal" the bag.
I wonder how much the discount is for buying a bag you borrow.
