I have good news and I have bad news!

The bad news is that you're wrong about authenticity.

The good news is that the bag is authentic! It's from approximately 2005, give or take a year or two in either direction.

It's a mini signature top handle pouch and pouches are among a variety of smaller items (wristlets, wallets, pouches, swingpacks) that may or may not have creeds. Those with creeds may or may not have serial numbers.
Hey, that’s great! Can’t beat $3! Thank you!

Thank you so much for your time!

It's genuine but the seller's measurements seem a bit off from Coach's, which happens often.

Amazing thank you! I accidentally already issued the refund lol but I’ll just resell it - she said the dye is coming off when she tried to clean it so it may have been overdyed. When I receive it back, do you think I should clean the old dye off? I’m wondering if it decreases the value.
If you had known before you issued the refund, she can't return a bag she has altered, and that includes trying to clean it. Whether that is a problem with the bag depends on what she used to clean it. The vintage dyes Coach used don't come off on your clothes but can come off a bit if you rub the leather with a cloth. They weren't entirely colorfast. Do you believe this bag was dyed or painted by an owner? If it wasn't, I'd leave the bag alone.

It's genuine, probably made for the Factory Outlets since all the ones we've seen have an outlet stamp, and all have the same misspelling "COMPIFTFIY" in the creed. We've never found the official name for it but outlet styles back then (it was made in 2001) were not in Coach's catalogs or main computer records. And contrary to what many "authenticity guides" claim, a misspelling does NOT prove that a "Coach" is fake.
Hyacinth and BeenBurned, thanks for your info. I had not seen a tag with a misspelling on an authentic bag before, and this bag looks real, is well-made, and is high quality leather, so I thought it was real. Now I know that a misspelling doesn’t rule out authenticity. It’s a honey of a little bag, and whether it’s name is “Girly” or not, that’s a good way to describe it. It is indeed girly, with lovely curves - it’s elegant! I’m happy it’s real. I looked and it seems there aren’t many of these around.

I just got this coach bag and read a little about the serial numbers and creed they had and I think it’s from around ‘94. The one issue I have is they say that the first letter indicates the month it was produced but the first 3 digits for this are “R9G”. I’ll link a couple photos. Anyone have any info on this bag?

I was digging through some stuff my mom left for me and I know my dad used to get her all sorts of fancy designer bags when they first met. I know almost nothing when it comes to designer names like these, especially from ‘94. So simply put, I couldn’t find where this thing was bought but to my knowledge, it’s authentic. Even if it isn’t I’d just like to know a little more about it seeing as there is such a community of people interested. I’d just like to learn

I'm sorry but the bag isn't authentic. R isn't a valid month code and although G is a valid plant code, the legitimate G plant bags had creeds with a different stamping/font.

If the bag is nice leather and you want to use it, you certainly can do so but if you plan to donate or resell it, you'd have to remove (cut off) the creed, remove anything with "Coach" markings such as the luggage tag, hangtag, and any stamping on the bag.

I know this isn't what you were hoping to hear. I'm sorry.

Haha it’s ok man. I’m not super emotionally attached to the authenticity of it. Just thought it was a cool looking bag. Even knowing it’s not authentic I can still use it. It’s feels pretty good. Thanks for the heads up!

There was a series of posts here just a few weeks ago about problems noted in several of that seller's listings. Not only did the seller post a photo from another bag as the creed photo, but one of her buyers had a serious complaint about condition. The posts start here on April 17:

My first response was here:

and MORE problems reported by the buyer who received a bag Not As Described AND moldy:

and follow-up comments from BeenBurned here.

The bag you're asking about is genuine, but the seller calls it "beautiful". However I'm seeing scratches and what could be damaged leather (a "pebbly" look in the first photo) and combined with what that previous buyer went through I personally would be very hesitant to buy from that seller, " caecae09 " at Poshmark. That's my personal opinion, take it for what it's worth. That's why we always recommend searching tPF for a seller's name and ID to see if they have any kind of history.

More opinions are welcome.

Thank you so much Hyacinth! I read your previous "auth" statements that you attached, and I am convinced to steer clear of caecae09!
So grateful for your expertise!
