Coach Crossgrain City Atlantic Blue Tote Bag (looked online and found a bag that looked similar - I have no idea if this is actually the exact model but it looks like it)

I got this purse as a gift and wanted to know if it was real. I've never owned a Coach purse so I don't know what to look for besides the serial number, which I understand changed to a tag recently, so I really have no idea. Thanks for any insight!

Here's the description in plain text, hope this helps: It's a genuine City Bag from the mid-1980s, style number 9790. The seller is a trusted tPF member who has a lot of experience and an excellent selling record in classic and vintage Coaches.

I don't see anything that would worry me.

Once again, many thanks for the authentication , the legible description and the thumbs up re the seller. I will save her as a favorite.
Only one major problem with this forum: it is not only enabling but encouraging the purchase of one's favorite bags. Is there a 12 step program for Coach addicts?
I went into a Winners store today (the Canadian equivalent of TJMax) and found two 18 oz containers of Leather CPR. It is very difficult to get in Canada. Now if I could only find the Apple conditioner.

This is about as close as we can get, but it doesn't seem to be very successful for some reason. :giggle:

As for finding leather treatments up in Red Green country, check the Rehab and Rescue thread over in the ClubHouse section of the main forum.

There must be a few Canucks who can suggest a source. Or wait until the flood of cross-border refugees from the US begins this Friday. Offer Tim Horton's coupons or a half-dozen bottles of Nestle Ice Java in exchange for your conditioner of choice. ;)

I've never used Apple but I believe it is similar to Lexol. IMO, having never used Apple, CPR is a better conditioner, especially for vintage and rehabs. Apple is more of a maintenance conditioner for bags that are in new condition. I use CPR and Blackrock on my new bags, and they work great.

Thank you, whateve. I know my local shoe repair guy carries Lexol. Reading the rehab forum, I got the impression that it smells nasty. If you use it, it mustn't be that bad! Blackrock is on my "to buy when I am in the US". Can't find it in Canada.

I am sorry, I missed the first post. I didn't see the section about if it isn't for auction.

Item Name (if you know it): Coach Crossgrain City Atlantic Blue Tote Bag (looked online and found a bag that looked similar - I have no idea if this is actually the exact model but it looks like it)
Link (if available): N/A
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.) See previous post with photo's
  • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
  • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

I checked the coach-ban thread. Thank you for the link. I only read the first page and was struck by the many references to pina coladas. I like that part! But all that consumption might lead to the need for another 12 step program!

Hello! I have two authentication requests for you magic ladies here. For the first, I have a briefcase that looks like it was abandoned as inauthentic but to my *inexperienced* eyes, it looks fairly good... either I'm very wrong or whoever it was that abandoned it was confused by the pre-1994 code. Any idea what this style might be, if it is authentic? Poor guy needs a lot of love.

15" width, 12" height, 3.25" depth, 22" max drop length.

Secondly, I was talking to a coworker a little while about a new vintage Coach purchase and she said she had one she bought ages ago and said I could have it.. Well she brought it in today, and it looks like it might be pre-creed? I'd love some extra information on this one as well, if it passes authentication! And how super sweet of her to give it to me.

 Thanks so much! I find this all so *fascinating*.

11" width, 8" height, 4.5" depth, 12.5" drop length.
