Hi there-- Could someone please look at these three bags that I recently received from an Etsy store? The seller was completely unresponsive when I asked a question before purchase so I decided to take my chances. I think I must have been half asleep because the listings themselves have problems but lesson learned. I think 2 are ok and will pursue returning the 3rd depending on your confirmation. Thanks!
Items and links:
Vintage Coach Leather No. 563-1901 (City Bag)

Vintage Coach Leather Handbag A0C-9817 (Kit Bag)-- (actual number F5C-9973)

Vintage Coach Leather No. J8D-9081 (Ramblers Legacy)

Seller: SwampandRoll

Here are photos I've taken of the bags and their creed patches. The Rambler's Legacy is certainly an issue...IMG_3567.jpgIMG_3568.jpegIMG_3569.jpgIMG_3570.jpgIMG_3572.jpgIMG_3573.jpegIMG_3574.jpeg

I'm guessing that you think the last one's fake, and you're correct. Not just a turnlock plate with indentations, but an always-fake serial prefix and font never used by the D plant.

The Etsy links aren't working, but in this case your photos are more than enough.

Secondly, I was talking to a coworker a little while about a new vintage Coach purchase and she said she had one she bought ages ago and said I could have it.. Well she brought it in today, and it looks like it might be pre-creed? I'd love some extra information on this one as well, if it passes authentication! And how super sweet of her to give it to me.

 Thanks so much! I find this all so *fascinating*.

11" width, 8" height, 4.5" depth, 12.5" drop length.
Great find! You are right, it is pre-creed, and possibly a Bonnie Cashin. I've seen this style many times but I've never found an official name for it.

Have you ever seen this message come up when trying to ask a question in an auction on eBay?! Looks like an attempt to get out of answering questions and there's no way to authenticate with only the pictures the seller shows. - We're sorry we couldn't find an answer for you. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of messages this seller receives, they are unable to respond to your specific question right now. We suggest reviewing the item again to see if your answer is in the seller's listing.

The details look ok pending a clear photo of the serial number and a better picture of the inside showing the exact color of the inside zipper's backing. It looks almost black in the photos and shouldn't be. But the seller's refusal to answer questions directly contradicts what her listing description promises ("I'm happy to answer any questions you have prior to purchase so feel free to inquire."), and the reply.is insulting to a potential buyer's intelligence.

Hello! I have two authentication requests for you magic ladies here. For the first, I have a briefcase that looks like it was abandoned as inauthentic but to my *inexperienced* eyes, it looks fairly good... either I'm very wrong or whoever it was that abandoned it was confused by the pre-1994 code. Any idea what this style might be, if it is authentic? Poor guy needs a lot of love.

15" width, 12" height, 3.25" depth, 22" max drop length.
It's authentic. I believe it is a Metropolitan Brief Bag #5180 from the mid 80s.

I tried asking a question to see what would happen and I got the same message. I don't think the seller has any control over this message. She may have no idea that people are trying to ask questions and can't. It's possible she had several previous questions she didn't respond to and ebay is restricting it for this reason. I don't believe I've seen this exact message before. I remember getting something similar on a listing of a very large seller who had made the decision themselves not to field questions through ebay.

Yes, I agree, Makes one want to jump right in & bid on it - NOT! Also makes one wonder if she's hiding part of the creed on purpose.
