It's a genuine Metropolitan Brief Bag, style 5180 from the mid-1980s. It should rehab very well. Nice find!

It looks fine to me and the Snaphead doesn't have the problems usually seen on fakes. There were a lot of similar styles in all kinds of colors at the outlets, especially around the holidays. My guess would be that it's maybe around 10 years old, give or take a few years either way. Maybe someone can pin it down more precisely.

I tried asking a question to see what would happen and I got the same message. I don't think the seller has any control over this message. She may have no idea that people are trying to ask questions and can't. It's possible she had several previous questions she didn't respond to and ebay is restricting it for this reason. I don't believe I've seen this exact message before. I remember getting something similar on a listing of a very large seller who had made the decision themselves not to field questions through ebay.

I've never seen that message before either.

You can contact the seller through the link on her profile page, check the box that says "This is not about an item," and then in your message include the item number.

Smaller bags like that one can make photographing the entire creed and number a major headache, but it can still be done. And the serial number still could have been listed in the description although it probably would have been one of the all-number ones with no production codes. But the seller, unless they're completely unavailable, should still be willing and have the listings settings configured to allow questions from potential buyers if she says she will.

There should also be a Contact Member link on at least one of her other pages, like her Feedback page:

I was able to send her a message from her feedback page. Don't use the "select an item" dropdown. Instead, click the box that says "This is not about an item" and then Continue.

ETA: I asked for a picture of the entire creed with serial number. I'll post if she responds. This item is on my watch list.

A few of the pictures of #2 belong to a different bag. Other than that, both listings look fine.
