Artsy and new canvas issues?

Last one I saw in the store was beautiful. I sold mine for the Metis hobo, but I think you could be brave and try again if you love the bag. It's a beautifully made bag. I just found it heavy and too wide at the base, but honestly, sometimes I miss looking at it on the shelf.

Interesting that you did go with the Metis Hobo, because I have considered that bag over the Artsy to avoid getting in these peeling problems again, and because I already have the Artsy in Empreinte. Althoug for me no canvas bag from LV beats the beauty of the Artsy, I really like the Metis Hobo too. Tried it yesterday, and it's really comfy to wear. And I like the options with vachetta vs the canvas strap. Hm... :thinkin:

I brought mine in yesterday and was told I dried out the bag because I kept it in the dust cover and box it came in. The sales girl told me it was completely normal and it happens to them all. I felt like she was bluffing from the beginning.

This is a known issue with the mono canvas in the last year and it has been affecting several models such as the Artsy, Delightful, and Totally. I would personally take this bag back to the store and let them replace it, but maybe in a different canvas as there is a chance that the replacement mono could also peel.
 
I bought my purse last Christmas, and now I'm seeing the peeling on mine as well, should I take it back or is this just normal.

I have a canvas bag from the early 2000s and the canvas looks perfect. Take it back and ask them to take a look at it. good luck and keep us posted.

I've seen pics of the peeling canvas and worry about the pochette metis I got just last month. I've been wearing it daily to make sure it gets daily use and inspect it all the time too :(
 
I got my Artsy in December of 2014 and by March of 2015 it was peeling all over. I took it back to the store and everyone was so shocked saying they never saw this before. So they gave me a new one. In June I had to take it back to the store because it was peeling all over the bag again. So they said the same thing that it never happen and it's the first bag they seeing this peeling all over. So they give me another one. It's now October and I had the new one for four months and its peeling all at the top and around. I took it to the store today and they told me I can't be coming in every 3 months for a new bag. I told them its not my fault that the bag is peeling. The guy was very rude and said I don't think this is the bag for you and you shouldn't get a artsy. Then he told me to pick another bag out. I looked for 30 minutes and then told him the artsy is my favorite piece. He said if i exchanged today it will be a final sale, and if it happens again i won't be able to bring it back in. I have 10 plus pieces form LV and never had this problem. So I had to call their corporate office and now I'm waiting on a call back.

Your actually lucky they exchanged it 3 times. Normally they do one courtesy exchange and that's it.
 
I have done a lot of research about this peeling issue when I first discovered it on my bag, and have not seen any information that indicates that this is a problem with any other bag than Artsy. Be aware that older models of Artsy had cracking problems with the canvas, but I'm not sure about the extent of that problem.


So the new canvas doesn't have a cracking problem at all at the top?? Just the canvas is peeling?

I would have picked another bag.

Sorry for your experience. I recommend going for something else while they get this canvas issue resolved. Even though the peeling is well known on this forum, it is not well known at all LV stores. I went through a similar dilemma, except I was within the return period when I noticed bubbling on my Sully and peeling on the models in the store. I finally decided to buy it pre-loved.

I know it can be frustrating to not be able to buy something you want without being scared of it having issues shortly after.
