I've been eyeing the Artsy for many months now and finally ready to buy until i came upon this thread! With this peeling/bubbling problem on the new canvas, when do you guys feel it will safe to buy an artsy....summer time?

I had a peeling bag from 2015. I was in the store recently and noticed that the canvas on the delightfuls has changed. It no longer feels rubbery like my peeling one. I think it might be safe now.

I also had a peeling one and I agree that the canvas has changed since then. Haven't heard of any problems since.

Sorry to hear that you had peeling problems and I'm sure it was such a hassle to exchange. If you're saying that the canvas for Artsy has become better, I feel so much more relieved. I'm almost to tears seeing the cracks unfold picture after picture... making me want an Empreinte... but hopefully the monogram canvas is back to it's awesome usual state! :D

Thanks

Hi guys, first time using the PF and it's so informative! I've got one (silly) question that i hope to get some help from you ladies.

I've decided to buy a pre-loved Artsy but if the peeling issues happens after i start using it, would the LV store do anything about it? I guess it's my own risk now but given it's an offical defect, not sure what they could do? Thank you. :)

Hi and welcome to tPF!
I'm not 100% sure what LV will do in your situation should the canvas begin to peel as the brand is supposedly in the process of requiring receipts/proof of purchase for all repairs and possibly even replacements for items with known defects/issues. It would be best to assume that you will be on your own should something occur, but if your heart is still set on an Artsy then try to find an older one that was released prior to the canvas being re-forumulated.

Thank you so much for your reply! I don't think this is how it is supposed to be, so I don't think I dare to do that ;) You say that erasers work well for cleaning white marks off the canvas. Do you say this is normal having white marks on canvas? I have many canvas bags, but have never experienced this before :wondering:
This is the second post I've seen in the past two days with this issue on the canvas. Looks like they made yet another change in the manufacturing process. I guess this is the new norm for LV canvas bags. So sad. Sorry you are experiencing this. I hope you find some type of resolution to your satisfaction.

I'm driving up to my nearest LV to get a strap for my Artsy and my son points out "white stuff" on my purse...its peeling :(. My hubby bought it for me for V-Day 2015. I hardly use of t. I started wearing it this week because I finally convinced myself that I should wear it since I have it. Now it's peeling. I'm heart broken. I hope they will help me once I get there but I am scared. I LOVE this bag. It's my first and only LV. :(

Take it into LV let them look at it. It is definitely peeling and I do hope they replace the bag for you. Seems those bags from 13 and 14 were having the problem.

Thank you :). I took it back and the manager said that she had never heard of that before and she would call the specialist. I explained to her that apparently it's an issue with the canvas. That I had heard of it on the purse forum. She said that she had heard of the cracking issue but not the peeling. The specialist said to exchange it for a new one. He didn't even hesitate to switch it out. It was such a relief. I checked over 2 more bags until I decided on one. I also got the bandolier strap. The strap makes it so much more comfortable for me. I am in love all over again.

So I just watched a video on YouTube about a girl and her experience with her peeling Artsy. She said LV has fixed the issue and that her new Artsy (which she's had since the end of last year) has not shown any signs of peeling, and also that the canvas feels different - not rubbery like the previous batches. So I broke down and ordered one last night. I've wanted this bag forever, and her video reassured me that the issue has been fixed. I'll post back here once my bag arrives.
