A lot of bags I've seen were older styles that had been production for years. Another theory was that it was used as a training facility.

That makes sense. With so many new plants being opened, they needed a central location where production methods could be taught and new management trained.

I see that both you and (evidently) your buyer are both fairly new. Note that anyone (including newbies) can post an authetnicity question to this thread. Just click "reply," type the question with info required by post number #1 of the following thread: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-818914-225.html#post25068204

The bag in the listing is fine. I hope your buyer is satisfied and pleased with the bag. New Coach users need to learn that the most consistent thing about Coach is its inconsistency. There are nearly no "rules" that apply to all Coach (with the exception of Coach bags being made in Korea) and depending on style, material and era of bags, details vary.

Again, I'm glad your buyer is reading and giving you the opportunity to prove your item.

1. I read the letters on the hangtag must be raised with very distinct clear lettering.? (The letters on your hangtag are not defined or nicely raised). 2. I read the zipper was supposed to have 3 letters embossed on it ? YKK ? or the word Ideal. 3. The inner tag only says : Made in China? . I thought I read somewhere that the inner tag might say Made in China but would also say made of the finest materials, etc.I know I should have done my homework thoroughly before bidding but have always wanted a Coach bag but was willing to settle for a nice used one. As I told you before, I do not want a fake bag - period. That is not what I bid on and you 100% guaranteed me it was authentic. However, your answers don't give me that confidence it is really authentic. Could you please give me a few days to find out for sure before deciding whether to return it or not? I would sure appreciate it.
I want to comment on some of your buyer's concerns. As I mentioned above, there's little consistency in Coach so what may apply to one item won't apply to others.

From buyer: 1. I read the letters on the hangtag must be raised with very distinct clear lettering.? (The letters on your hangtag are not defined or nicely raised).

I don't know where you read it but hangtags vary from style to style and change over time. Bags from different years and in different styles have different hangtags and different styles.

99.9% of online guides telling "how to authenticate Coach" are outdated, incomplete or just plain full of misinformation.

From buyer: 2. I read the zipper was supposed to have 3 letters embossed on it ? YKK ? or the word Ideal.

Coach has used several other brands of zippers in addition to YKK and Ideal. Additionally zippers can be faked or genuine YKK (or other) zippers can be used in fakes.

Zipper brand has nothing to do with authenticity. Here's a helpful and accurate guide:
http://www.ebay.com/gds/Coach-and-the-YKK-Zipper-Myth-the-Basic-Facts/10000000040073710/g.html

From buyer: 3. The inner tag only says : Made in China? . I thought I read somewhere that the inner tag might say Made in China but would also say made of the finest materials, etc.

Creed wording and tags and labeling all change over time.

Here's another guide with helpful info concerning creeds, also a credible guide:
http://www.ebay.com/gds/coach-creeds-the-basic-facts/10000000030821024/g.html

Again, Coach's inconsistency and change are the most consistent detail in their business.

Thanks very much. I hope that her fears will now be laid to rest. Have a nice day!
You're welcome.

LOL! Thanks for editing your post but also for posting her concerns in the first place. Her comments were helpful in showing the buyer's concerns and serve to reinforce why we recommend so adamantly against the zillions of guides permeating the internet.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to comment on her specific concerns. She's not the first one to have believed what she read online and I'm sure she won't be the last.

Unfortunately, there's no vetting of the information that's posted on the internet. No one verifies that the authors know what they're talking about and in many cases, those expert authors know less than my pet rabbit about Coach, but instead, simply copied and pasted someone else's guide.

I agree and appreciate this forum very much. Thanks, again!
