I knew about the difference between those two styles when I first found the second one, just forgot temporarily. I'm going to blame it on celebrating my becoming an OG on the forum today!

OG is a slang term for someone who's incredibly exceptional, authentic, or "old-school." It can be earnestly used for a legend like Michael Jordan or more ironically, like for that friend who can unwrap a Starburst with their mouth.

My favorite is Hyacinth's suggestion of Oldie but Goodie.Maybe I'll just think of it as "an Oldie but a Goodie"
It doesn't look as though OG had a specific meaning. I looked through the OG thread and many guesses came up but this one from Vlad implies that it isn't defined.

Maybe I'll just think of it as "Old Guard". There were too many real gangsters where I grew up in Chicago for me to be comfortable with the name.
