I thought maybe there was some Mothers Day champagne involved, or a few coffees spiked with Bailey's or Kahlua.

And Happy Mothers Day to you both, even if it's a little late!
Thanks! Happy Mother's Day to you too! 2 out 3 of my children remembered.

I knew about the difference between those two styles when I first found the second one, just forgot temporarily. I'm going to blame it on celebrating my becoming an OG on the forum today!

Thank you.

I can't even blame it on alcohol! I'll blame it on old age!

Congrats @whateve on becoming OG. (That doesn't mean old goat or old gal!)

Heck, I've probably been one for two years and STILL don't know what "OG" means. Older Than Granite?

And why did this post just show up for me as Unread today? Weird.
I have been trying to figure out what OG means.... anyone? Old Guard? Orator of Greatness? Old Gangster? this is what I find when I google .......
OG is a slang term for someone who's incredibly exceptional, authentic, or "old-school." It can be earnestly used for a legend like Michael Jordan or more ironically, like for that friend who can unwrap a Starburst with their mouth.

On the forum, I believe it means original group. It's anyone who has been a member of the forum for 10 years or more.

I always say in my head Original Gangster even thought I know its not.
Maybe I'll just think of it as "an Oldie but a Goodie":happydance:
My favorite is Hyacinth's suggestion of Oldie but Goodie.

It doesn't look as though OG had a specific meaning. I looked through the OG thread and many guesses came up but this one from Vlad implies that it isn't defined.

Thanks!

Maybe I'll just think of it as "Old Guard". There were too many real gangsters where I grew up in Chicago for me to be comfortable with the name.

ETA:

TOP DEFINITION
old guard
a defender and protector of the good ol' days of a hobby or tradition, usually violently opposed to any new additions to their hobby.

2
Old Guard
The Old Guard (French: Vieille Garde) were the elite veteran elements of the Emperor Napoleon's Imperial Guard. It was the most feared elite infantry formation of its day.
French soldiers often referred to Napoleon's Old Guard as "the Immortals"

"the Immortals" - I like that!
