December Activities and Challenges - pick and choose as you please.

I. 2024 Year In Review Reflection
(Thanks @Vintage Leather)

Utilize these thought starters to evaluate your collection, your usage patterns and your lessons learned in 2024.
• What is your most useful purse?
• What is your best purchase of the year?
• We’ve all had a lot of lifestyle changes this year - how has it affected your style?
• What is the one thing we’ve learned this year that you want to take into the next?

II. Setting 2025 Goals
Take this month to consider what you want to do with your handbag collection, wardrobe or even your beautiful life in 2025. Share these thoughts in January when we start the 2026 Shopping Your Closet thread.

III. End of year optional challenges

• Holiday colors: December has many holidays celebrated across the world - red & green, brown & gold, blue & white and more! Pick the holiday that you want to honor and wear / show off your bags in those traditional colors.

• End with a bang: As we come to the last part of the year, wear the last bag you’ve purchased at least 3 times this month.

@Vlad please pin this to the top of our thread.

February Stats:

1 bag in, 4 bags out
1 SLG in, 1 SLG out
0 scarves in, 2 scarves out
0 bag charms in, 2 bag charms out
1 jewelry in, 3 jewelry out
2 shoes in/2 shoes out
0 sunglasses in, 2 sunglasses out

The bag in was a lululemon belt bag in a lighter color, which I bought for spring. The SLG in was the coin pouch from the recent Louis Vuitton denim line. I have a Mini Pleaty from the mid-aughts and wanted something from this new line to go with it; this was my Valentine’s Day gift from DH.

The jewelry in was a bracelet from the new pink ceramic line from Lagos. I love their bracelets and the pink will go so well with my wardrobe.

I have a sunglasses problem, so need to start keeping track! I should also start keeping track of my lululemon clothing purchases, but that might shock even me, so maybe that’s not a good idea…

I dropped off quite a bit to my favorite consignment shop (clothing, accessories and home items) and boxed up other items for donation. Apologies if the below is behind a paywall, but this article on a woman in England who breathes new life into old stuffed animals brought tears to my eyes. It made me think about using what we have and trying to recycle what we no longer use/love versus having it end up in a landfill. That, of course made, me think of this thread. I hope she sets up shop here in the U.S.!

February 2024
  • 0 bags in; 1 bags out
  • 9 / 13 bags used
  • For most used bag it’s a tie between my Moynat Oh tote and Coach Hampton bag, both brought on a 5 day work trip.
  • SLGs: 0 in / 0 out
  • Accessories: 0 in / 0 out
  • Shoes: 0 in / 1 out
  • Jewelry: 1 in / 0 out
  • Clothes: 2 in/ 2 out
Wore my Giorgio Armani heels to death. They served me well. Took them on my work trip this month for the last hurrah. I probably could get them resoled but when I found out that Meghan Markle also wore the same heels, I was like nope. Goodbye. She’s probably my most disliked public figure.

Gave into a pair of Buccellati earrings as mentioned earlier haha.

I've been sick for about the last week so I haven't been doing much, including carrying bags. In February, I sold a scarf and 2 purse charms.

We got the exterior of the house painted. We're waiting for some replacement trim for the exterior before it is complete.

Great stats, and I hope you feel better soon!

February stats:

Bags in or out - Zero!
Scarves in or out - 3 in (), and 1 out! Very (very) happy at the 3 in (2 grails and 1 perfect CSGM), and the one out was a gift to a dear friend.

Carried 9 different purses - most carried (6) was my Picotin, followed by the LV Graceful. The Graceful is proving to be a great purse for travel in warm weather, very happy I bought it last year!

Read 3 books (Starter Villain - hilarious and smart, Less - skimmed on the plane and left it there because I thought it was awful, and My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry - great book, but I did cry hard near the end), and have started Profit Song by Paul Lynch on Audible, and No Time Like the Past by Jodi Taylor.

Finally got over a terrible cold (4 weeks!), got a small donation out, got the taxes sorted and to the CPA, and I’m currently wading through a mountain of laundry.

I’m behind on the color weeks, will post them next!
Cookie, your red, yellow and pink bags are amazing. The yellow Ferragamo makes me smile and your Studio is a gorgeous red.

Your book stats are fantastic! I love Fredrik Backman so I’ll add My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry to my want to read list.

Feb stats:
Out and in

No bags in or out
Lots of clothes and accessories out.
Lots more ready to go.

I've arranged with a well-known charity shop in central London to do an evening event (sale) completely dedicated to my archive. They've done a special poster and everything  There will be a few bags but mostly vintage. I already sold a couple of vintage beauties last month and I was pleased they made others happy.

Shopping from my own closet (or not)
I've been so lazy, I've not been into changing bags at all. One of the reasons is perhaps I've either been just walking on the beach or park, or when I go out, it's been RAINING and raining and raining. I've had a hundred things to go to or see, so it just seems easier to keep the black Evie on.

Inspiration into practice
The Prada AW24 show. Not usually a Prada fan and usually I'm looking at pieces not styling, but it gave me some styling input. I wore my black Cos shirt over a jersey black slip bordered with lace. Dress buttoned all the way to the top of the neck and undone from the waist so you could see the slip (acting as underskirt). Gucci chain belt (from AW08) H scarf in hair as a hair band and Giles gold-tone bejewelled scorpion, statement necklace. When I wear black I try to do some flame or warm-tone colours. I did plan on my red Box leather Bolide (dinner at Scarf's Hotel on Thurs) but it was pouring with rain Thurs.- so again, I ended-up with black (Clemence) Evie. It's still raining!

I need to see the bracelet :D

Bracelets (and necklaces) are great for coordinating with bags without going match matchy. I was wearing teal and dark red the other day and my black bag was a bit 'heavy' or clumsy, but with an enamel bangle that had teal/dark red/mustard and strong blck/whte too, suddenly it all worked.

I have a sunglasses problem too. I almost bought another (SL) pair last week. I have to remind myself, I don't live in the tropics.

Sorry to be so late - I have more red bags than all the other colors combined, so I'll be quiet for a while.
My reds:
K28 rouge H box
Ferragamo Studio
Portland leather goods tote
Hermes Cecile clutch rouge H box -- ooh I should wear this tonight to a dinner party
H Kelly wallet
H mini evelyn (newest item) rouge H box
H 35 Trim rouge H chamonix, I think

oops - Forgot the dark red Ghurka overnight bag I've had forever.

What black Evie do you wear in the rain?
