December Activities and Challenges - pick and choose as you please.

I. 2024 Year In Review Reflection
(Thanks @Vintage Leather)

Utilize these thought starters to evaluate your collection, your usage patterns and your lessons learned in 2024.
• What is your most useful purse?
• What is your best purchase of the year?
• We’ve all had a lot of lifestyle changes this year - how has it affected your style?
• What is the one thing we’ve learned this year that you want to take into the next?

II. Setting 2025 Goals
Take this month to consider what you want to do with your handbag collection, wardrobe or even your beautiful life in 2025. Share these thoughts in January when we start the 2026 Shopping Your Closet thread.

III. End of year optional challenges

• Holiday colors: December has many holidays celebrated across the world - red & green, brown & gold, blue & white and more! Pick the holiday that you want to honor and wear / show off your bags in those traditional colors.

• End with a bang: As we come to the last part of the year, wear the last bag you’ve purchased at least 3 times this month.

@Vlad please pin this to the top of our thread.

February stats: I am a little late with stats, but nothing to report in terms of new additions to my bag collection. No major purchases, but I have been picking up small treats for myself here and there to get me through a busy and stressful month.

I am very much in a decluttering mode here. In the process of clearing stuff out for bathroom and closet remodeling, we discovered three boxes of old files full of paperwork that we had forgotten about. Ugh! So now I have the unenviable task of going through them (it's mostly stuff to be thrown.) My clothing situation is in chaos. I have a lot of clothes that don't work for me anymore and will be doing a major clear out soon. I got rid of many jeans recently, especially high-waisted jeans. After struggling with some recent upper GI issues like acidity (still trying to figure out the foods that are problematic), I finally just decided I couldn't wear high rise jeans anymore and have set them aside to be dropped off.

Oh, and I almost forgot: I decided to add some of the bags sitting in my "closet of departing bags" back into my collection. I still have a few sitting there to be donated but most of the others are back in my collection. Here is one of them (carried recently), pictured next to flowers from the grocery store.

Beautiful bag! I'm sorry about your health issues. In case you haven't heard about it, for temporary relief of acid without a rebound effect, try DGL licorice. It's safe and just coats your stomach so you don't feel the acid. It got me through weaning myself off of Aciphex. I never liked super high waisted jeans - lower waists are more comfortable.

I hadn't heard of it; thank you for mentioning it. Do you take it on an as-needs basis? I will look into it. I used to like high waisted jeans but now they make me feel uncomfortable, so I am finished with them forever! Mid-rise is really the best, especially the ones that sit just below the belly button. It's funny how lately I have gone off my jeans and blazer "uniform" for casual outings. I still like jeans and will continue to wear the mid-rise ones but I am moving away from wool and tweed blazers, and looking for more casual jackets or maybe even just sticking to knit sweaters and jumpers over pants and skirts as the weather warms up here.
Hope you are feeling better and recovered from being unwell last week.:hugs:

I need to see the bracelet

Bracelets (and necklaces) are great for coordinating with bags without going match matchy. I was wearing teal and dark red the other day and my black bag was a bit 'heavy' or clumsy, but with an enamel bangle that had teal/dark red/mustard and strong blck/whte too, suddenly it all worked.

I have a sunglasses problem too. I almost bought another (SL) pair last week. I have to remind myself, I don't live in the tropics.
I tried on several, including these two, and bought the one on the left. I have small wrists, so love that they have different sizes. The stores all got the 6.5” for this release, which is small for most, but perfect for me!

Yes, you can take as needed. I don't think you can overdo it. It's available at most vitamin stores.

I'm feeling better. The last few days have been almost normal but my stomach doesn't feel quite right. I had a respiratory illness, didn't eat for a few days so I'm wondering if my stomach is having trouble adapting to eating again.

Reactions: Purses & Perfumes
Sorry everyone very behind. DH has returned from Germany etc etc etc, thank you for everyone's love and support :hugs:

Feb stats:
Out and in

No bags in or out
Lots of clothes and accessories out.
Lots more ready to go.

I've arranged with a well-known charity shop in central London to do an evening event (sale) completely dedicated to my archive. They've done a special poster and everything  There will be a few bags but mostly vintage. I already sold a couple of vintage beauties last month and I was pleased they made others happy.

Shopping from my own closet (or not)
I've been so lazy, I've not been into changing bags at all. One of the reasons is perhaps I've either been just walking on the beach or park, or when I go out, it's been RAINING and raining and raining. I've had a hundred things to go to or see, so it just seems easier to keep the black Evie on.

Inspiration into practice
The Prada AW24 show. Not usually a Prada fan and usually I'm looking at pieces not styling, but it gave me some styling input. I wore my black Cos shirt over a jersey black slip bordered with lace. Dress buttoned all the way to the top of the neck and undone from the waist so you could see the slip (acting as underskirt). Gucci chain belt (from AW08) H scarf in hair as a hair band and Giles gold-tone bejewelled scorpion, statement necklace. When I wear black I try to do some flame or warm-tone colours. I did plan on my red Box leather Bolide (dinner at Scarf's Hotel on Thurs) but it was pouring with rain Thurs.- so again, I ended-up with black (Clemence) Evie. It's still raining!

I’m glad your DH is back. I hope things are progressing well on that front.

Please please take pics of your evening event. It sounds so soigne and fabulous. :)

Sorry to be so late - I have more red bags than all the other colors combined, so I'll be quiet for a while.
My reds:
K28 rouge H box
Ferragamo Studio
Portland leather goods tote
Hermes Cecile clutch rouge H box -- ooh I should wear this tonight to a dinner party
H Kelly wallet
H mini evelyn (newest item) rouge H box
H 35 Trim rouge H chamonix, I think

oops - Forgot the dark red Ghurka overnight bag I've had forever.
What a stunning collection of red bags, all beauties!

P&P, I love your Waldorf Satchel. I hope you feel better soon.

@whateve you have such a good eye for colours, I love your pinks and purples. Are there any particular ones that you carry more often? Glad to hear you’re feeling better.

@DME congratulations on your new bracelet!

I just got back from a 1 week vacation in Japan. Naturally (lol!), I came home with bags that add to my tally for February.

Bags in : 3 (1 Loewe preloved; 1 Longchamp net bag and 1 Lululemon nylon belt bag) all bought in Japan
Bags out: 0
Scarf : 1 H scarf from Japan

As you may have noticed, traveling is a dangerous thing for my wallet!

Here is the Loewe bag I bought. It’s pink! Right for last week’s color showcase. Anybody here knows the model name?

Congrats @msd_bags ! What a beautiful bag ! I don't know the name of the model but I wish Loewe would still sell these. This is exactly the kind of bag I am looking for! And yes, travelling is very bad for the wallet, but also a great experience. I would love to visit Japan one day .

@DME beautiful bracelet :love:!

These are my purples. They are a mix of brands. Top row, left to right, Fossil and Balenciaga mini pompon in ultraviolet (new addition last year). Middle row, Longchamp, Coach Legacy Willis, vintage Coach Sonoma in periwinkle. Bottom row, Balenciaga Velo in bleu lavande, Bottega Veneta cervo tote in anemone.

A friend of mine successfully googled it - the bag is called Dunas.
