Omg. I think we have the same Dooney bag, but mine is black with red.

I'm about to give this bag away, I'm having second thoughts now. [emoji85]

Maybe it photographs better than it looks IRL. This Dooney bag has such hard leather that one of its drawbacks is that it's actually noisy. My stuff bonked around in it (no pockets either) and it was driving me crazy. Sometimes a bag turns out to be work to use and this drawstring fell into that category for me.

That's why I dislike my Dooney too. It's so stiff that it's hard to open and close. And yes! I realized I wanted a smaller bucket bag because things kept moving and making noise inside.

But your picture made it look so pretty. So I'm hesitating because the bag is pretty. Just a pain to use.

I think I'd want a softer, smaller bucket bag.

View attachment 3673765 Hi again… busy week so I'm just getting in with my gray bags. The Longchamp Le.Foulonne tote in the rear is one of my favorite and much reached-for bags, the MbyMJ cross body is easy, useful, light, and has such soft leather, the Dooney was my cautious foray into the drawstring craze of 2015 (not for me, drawstrings) and is on its way out, and the little guy is my grabber for morning walks and runs. I like gray bags. One of my big bag regrets is selling a BV large Bonita in a beautiful gray (fume). I thought it was too big and "kite-like" for my 5'3" frame but I just loved the color and now I know I could have pulled it off. Sigh ...
Gorgeous grey bags!

I have the Le Foulonne tote in black and I like it a lot. But I think the color on yours is much more beautiful!!

View attachment 3673781 PS... This Dooney Florentine satchel is in my "country bags" group, i.e. bags that don't seem to fit with my urban style but are great when I go north of the city for weekends and vacation. I removed the tassels when I was trying to make it work as a city bag and now it looks kind of naked, lol ...

Great gray collection, westvillage! I have a nylon MbMJ cross body; very worry free, but I like your leather one better!

Great grouping! I love the color of your Longchamp.

I like your greys! I have that same Florentine leather one in the most gorgeous shade of green. Absolutely love the color, but it's so heavy so.it doesn't get much use. Every time I go to get rid of it I can't because I love the color. Your grey is very pretty too!

I know I should get rid of that green bag for sure DC. It doesn't hurt my shoulder, it's just heavy to lug around. I've went through a few rounds with my bags in the last couple years, one to family, the next round to friends, both of those I gave away. Third round I took to a consignment shop and they all sold, but it wasn't a great amount of money. The last round I did was last year for a fundraiser. I gave them 10 bags and they had a silent auction the day of the event, they sold well...that was my favorite round. I think I only have one more round to go and I'll feel good.

If it doesn't cause you pain and you love it. There is no reason to get rid of it.

I'm going to the country this weekend so, after this exchange, I decided to load up the Dooney bucket bag and use it. I tried it on and then promptly unloaded it. I'm afraid it's irredeemable so into the Shopping Bag of Doom it goes, awaiting a trip to the thrift shop. It's not a bag I want to pass on plus all my friends and relatives have gotten several bags from me already ... it's gotten embarrassing, lol.
This thread is doing its job. That was a quick out!

I am at about the same point you are. I did several purges and I am now down to my last round. I also have a bag or two that I keep for looks but never reach for. One is a Coach box leather turquoise original Borough bag, so beautiful but used once. I didn't bother to show it iduring blue bag week, or green, because it's just dead space in the closet. Maybe someday we will all have a discussion of "bags we keep for looks only."

The Dooney Florentines have come in stunning colors. I get color envy when those bags in Ocean, Emerald, Sunflower, Persimmon, etc. are revealed. The leather takes the color with exceptional richness . But just as you say, they are a couple of bricks to carry.
