Thanks for the kind words. I contacted the nearest YSL boutique which is 3 hours away. I sent the SA some photos and she said she'll try to help me. I have no idea what that will mean. I'm a little worried about taking it to a generic cobbler because of the black hardware.

The suede bag is going back. I had one place say they can clean it but since Leather Surgeons - the top Chanel repair shop said no, I'm scared to try and then get stuck with a grungy bag I won't wear. :amazed:

I LOOOOOOOVE your idea of the pillows and am so stealing it! I don't have the time or interest to make them - I really should get back to sewing:facepalm: - but I can order some from eBay. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the comment. I am constantly reminding myself to only buy what I love and will wear. Otherwise I would surely end up overwhelmed with 100+ pretty bags

I always wonder how / why people will have lots of bags that they love, be frustrated that they don't wear them and then still continue to buy lots of new bags when the new season's line up arrives. I can understand someone who is happy to just collect / own bags and not wear them. It's not my "thing" but people collect tons of things like cars, baseball cards and crystal. So, why not bags. I can also completely understand large collections for variety, long time collectors who add over the years and keep cherished bags or those who have lots of bags because their style has changed / evolved.

I just get puzzled by those who are frustrated with not using their bags - some that they have even only owned for a year or two - or who are scared of using their bags and still buy more. Perhaps it's shopping addiction? I dunno. But I see a lot of that on TPF.

Good luck with your YSL, I hope the SA sorts something out for you. Keep us posted.
I think returning the suede is a good decision

I'm the same re people not using their bags, I don't get buying a delicate colour/finish then being too frightened to use it. I love light colours, haircalf & metallic finishes, I think they are stunning and eye catching............all bags should be shown off. If you take it out and enjoy then in the end its damaged what would have given you more pleasure, wearing it or looking at it in the dustbag?

I feel like I have to make my pillows coordinate my bag! :giggle:
Which wouldn't be a bad project really! Some bags don't work with the pillows I currently have.

Thank you all for your lovely comments about my handbag pillows. Glad I inspired some of you. I've not done any sewing for some years and I found I enjoyed it but the sewing machine is packed firmly away again now. It was a straight forward project, squares & oblongs very manageable & it's good to have the perfect fit. I can totally understand why most would prefer to buy ready made. There are plenty of cheap and some luxury alternatives available.

I found a little haberdashery store for the fabric that had "fat quarters" (1/4 mtr) which were absolutely perfect. The selection was enormous as they were cut from rolls for cushion/ quilting etc. It allowed me to match colours & themes to my bags, very inexpensively . They had just got their Christmas fabric in, (October !) they are my favourite pillows and always make me smile when I see them........happy memories

Mine is the one I'm currently carrying: my LV Montaigne BB in Marine Rouge. I just can't seem to get enough of this bag! Every time I go to switch it out with a different bag, I say to myself "just one more day"...
To my surprise, it has even worked on drizzly days. My SA told me not to treat it with a waterproofer, so I didn't. The raindrops just bead up and I brush them off.

Fabulous bag, I absolutely love it, what a beauty

Sparkle- I think you are right to return the suede bag. I have yet to see suede get clean on anything and retain the soft plushness of it. I hope the YSL an get repaired.
Yesterday, I sold two more bags so at some point I need to pull my black bags and take a new picture minus one. We didn't do metalic yet so I'm safe with the other. Still trying to shift some things around to bags I will truly wear and work for me.

Sadly, i'm not good enough with putting together outfits other than basics to have favourite or steady color combos lol. I think at best, it would be navy and fuchsia, and cobalt and orange - and those were pinterest inspired haha.

these are fabulous! And I love that when they're out they're actually functional as decoration too. What a great idea! I got lucky while my aunt was clearing out one of her stores and for some reason she had tons of small pillows that she let me have, which fit perfectly in a lot of my bags.

I love this haha.

mine would be my RLL totes for work, but coming in a close second is actually this bad boy - which is my be-lated offering for green day. It's a Miu Miu hobo in an extremely pale mint green. This bag.. it's like my horror story of bags.. Bought it, loved it, wore it carefully, but major color transfer and it just seems to go down hill from there... got it re-dyed and touched up and now it has a plasticky feel to it, despite it still being super soft.. I think when I bought it i didn't' realize how delicate the leather was going to be. Add to it, the handle cracking and peeling. Just horrible. Many of you who were in the previous threads will remember this bag. BUT.. I love it, and its' really a carefree bag for me and I can chuck it around.. it's sizable when I need to fit a lot of stuff, but when there's not a lot in it, hugs my body so it's not overwhelming. You can't tell in the picture but the handle is quite worn down and I'm waiting for it to fall off before deciding what to do with it. View attachment 3672303

I love this kind of story.
Can you wrap something like a twilly on the handles? It'd be in style enough to conceal the handles.

Pls post pics as you expand your clutch collection, I think clutches are so versatile. I find that I'm content with my larger bag collection (apart from a few pieces I need to add) and want to concentrate on more colors of clutches like you
I definitely will post pics. I will do a group shot once we get to styles

Wow! Those Christmas fabrics sound wonderful!

Hello everyone, been busy so haven't had time to post. Love the stories posted though

On most used bag, it would have to be my Jimmy choo shoulder bag( i posted a pic when we did the black theme; its my goto weekend bag). Honestly if bags could sue their owners for misuse i would've paid a hefty fine [emoji23]! Its the softest, most comfortable care free bag I've ever owned. I literally chuck it around, lay on any surface imaginable, use in the rain and the thing is still in 1 piece. No scratches on the leather, although the hardware has abit of tarnish but unless u look close its not noticeable. I call her my 'ride or die chick', lol. She would have to literally fall to pieces before i give her up.

On color/color combinations for cloths, I don't really have any. I pretty much see something i like and buy it. For bags, i tend to gravitate to black for my larger handbags as i'm always afraid I wouldn't get alot of use out of pops of color. For clutches though i do tend to do more of color. I just recently also started buying shoes in color as i always just did black as well.

On storing bags, i store mine in their dust cloths and the bags are stuffed with the original white tissue they came with, in a closet. So far i have not had any mildew issues or problems.

Phew, hope i've covered a few of the topics discussed [emoji4]

Congrats on the bags sold!

I only have 3 more purgatory bags to sell this year. I also have 4 bags in my collection I'd like to sell / replace. But, I have zero interest in shopping for their replacements this year - they're all "fun" bags and I need to focus on getting another great work bag and a carefree workhorse. So I'll hold for now.

I'm back to wearing a bag "until I can't help but dying to change out" pattern again this year. I think I wear Bluey, the BD bag the most so far. Also, the Officier City. I think I'm in my Blue phase.

I stuff my bags with my old clothes, the ones I just can't make up my mine to throw away, then put them in dust bag and put the tag on the string. The pillow idea is very nice, but then I won't have space to keep these old clothes. At least, they're doing a good job and I get to keep them somewhere. [emoji28]

When I got rid of my ancient small leather backpack I thought the red mbmj pack or fabric Bendel backpacks would cover my needs. They work but not always. The new DVF will be a better fit for a lot of things. Can't wait till I get to use. Have been working at home so no need for a bag.

You got rid of the RM backpack?!?! Sorry if I remember it wrong. I mean I remember there're a couple of us on this thread that have that backpack and you're one of them. This DVF actually remind me of that bag.
